We do a whole series of posts each Christmas we call the “12 Days of Christmas Anime,” a post a day covering an anime episode leading up through Christmas. There are just sooooo many Christmas anime episodes; I have a list with probably a hundred, and I know I’m missing so many, even from recent series. If you’d like to see it, let me know and I’ll send it your way! And there are a couple Christmas-centric anime, though not entire series: My Santa!, which is an OVA, and Tokyo Godfathers, a classic anime movie by one of the great directors, Satoshi Kon.
My favorites are probably the Love Hina Christmas special and the episodes of Toradora (there are like three or four here and they’re pretty melancholy), The Big O (solemn and mysterious), and Kimi ni Todoke (romantic).

I think my favorite Christmas moment is in the Sailor Moon S movie when “Santa” appears. But my favorite episode is probably the Christmas episode from Kobato.

I remember seeing an episode of Sword Art Online where Kirito tried to kill an exclusive Santa Clause boss and gain an item to revive Sachi. It had a sad ending and I cried lol
