Interesting topic. Like the shirt.
I never really thought about it until you mentioned it. It does seem a little unfair. I think it would be nice to see a woman in charge of a movie or anime. It would be different. I agree that we are in 2016 and we should stop living in the past XD. I never actually thought about how men and women think in terms of realism in fantasy.
Having a female director really seemed to pay off for Sailor Moon Crystal! But it should be based on who is best for the job, not what gender. But Japan in particular does seem to really push for women to quit once they are married, especially with their declining birth rates.
