That’s right! You read the title of this blog post correctly! There are talks of a live action Pokemon film! Right now there are no huge details and nothing is set in stone but it is definitely something interesting to consider.
From what I read talks are happening between The Pokemon Company and Legendary but Legendary does not have the rights to the film. But from leaked emails from Sony it seems that Sony was also considering a Pokemon movie but it did not specify if it was going to be animated or not.
If Pokemon live action films is in the works it is said that there will be no budget spared. Which leads me to believe that a live action Pokemon film may actually be good and worth seeing.
As someone who watched Pokemon as a kid seeing it come to life as more than something animated would be awesome to see. Plus I kind of can’t wait to see who they would cast as the main characters.
Now I know that live action anime films don’t have the best streak when it comes to being good but I think this may be a good one. I mean think about it Pokemon is still a cash cow with all the games, movies, and also the ongoing anime. So I’m sure that whoever gets it will do it justice. Well at least I hope so.

I did think they would get around to planning a live action movie eventually but, I didn’t think it would be happening now especially with the reveal of the new games Sun and Moon later this year. As a huge Pokemon fan, I hope it will do the franchise justice…but most live action anime films haven’t been good so far (i.e. The Last Airbender and DB Evolution). Still hoping it will be good this time with Pokemon. Personally, I’d like to Red and Blue as main characters just because their story was more action packed compared to the more fun adventures of Ash on his journey. I’ll be ok with either though.
Also, I’ll definitely be posting about this movie if/when more details come out!
I think the movie would also be good since it is such a huge franchise but I’m not holding out a lot of hope.
I am intrigued by the idea. I would probably check it out. I do fear that what if the live-action film won’t do well. Personally, I agree with mannywolf12, I think it would be much more interesting if the main characters were Red and Blue. If it was Ash, then most of us would expect the actor should act like him. If the actor was Red, he can be almost anybody.
Yeah that is very true! I think it may work or well since they are saying the the budget would be really high.
The budget is high? Wow, this may sound interesting haha. I can’t wait for it. If it does well, I wonder how will they make the Pokemon.

That’s going to be cool. I bet it will also focus on the Kanto region, the first generation Pokemon. I would love it if they did. I am a classic fan.

I don’t think the film will be all that good, but I would definitely be hyped to see what they’d do with the concept.
I don’t think it will be too bad but I can see it getting a lot of publicity.
