So I know that anime is always changing whether it’s the content that’s being seen, the fandom itself changing, or how popular it’s becoming.
But now I want to know how do you think anime will change in the next 10 years? How I think anime will change is by what is popular and of course what art style has become popular in the world of animation.
One thing that I hope will change with anime in the next 10 years is that anime will become less obscure and maybe just a little bit more mainstream.
But how do you think anime will change in the next 10 years and what do you hope will change. Comment down below with your answers and I can’t wait to read them!

I don’t know how anime will change in the next ten years, but I hope showing off and focusing on so much on huge boobsies that do not drive the story forward disappear. The outfit….. why ? FullMetal Alchemist is very popular without those unrealistically huge balls of fire. And the panty shots….. ” shakes head” Anime fans are used to this, but those who will watch this for the first time will shake their heads and say WTF ! I don’t think it’s nitpicking and being too sensitive if I say it’s disrespectful and making fun of the female private parts. Jiggling boobs is not funny.
It’s precisely because of that reason that i don’t watch anime on the train or anywhere in public. Hope they get rid of it.
No it’s not disrespectful to say that it is just your preference.
I honestly don’t know, but I think it would become more worldwide than it is now. What I’m hoping the most is better working conditions, pay & benefits for the animators who are doing most of the grunt work, not just the people on top. If this happens, I’ll feel a lot better in enjoying anime.
That I would like to see too.
Hopefully more anime can take place at work as the fan base is also slowly maturing.
Yeah that would be awesome too.
Personally, I hope in the next 10 years, I also agree that anime will become more mainstream. Going back to my childhood, I remember toy products selling Dragon Ball Z, GT, Sailor Moon, and Naruto toys. I wish to see anime get more attention and spread throughout places, almost like Japan. Funny thing if it did happen, we no longer have to say, “I want to go to Japan for anime”, instead we can say “let’s go hangout at Target, they tons of anime and manga”; this is hypothetically speaking XD. Going back to the topic, if anime does become a mainstream, then people will also learn about Japanese culture and traditions. We would be exposed to something entirely new. Also, at least you won’t have to be shy about saying you are an anime fan, it might become a trend just like calling yourself a nerd/geek. That is what I think.
I like the picture you used for this post, it fits the discussion.
Thanks so much! I also hope that anime becomes more mainstream as well and also for not having to hide that your a fan of it.
I totally agree. In a way, we could have our own little “Japan” all over places and anime would be a norm.
Exactly and that would be awesome!
It would be awesome, I wish it happened ^^
Me too!
In the series, I like him and Sanosuke. I want to be like Kenshin, but I feel like I am close to Sanosuke hahaha.
Well both of them are really cool characters.
I agree, they are pretty cool especially on the villains.
Yup!
Well… some are cool and some creepy. By far, Jin-e is the most creepiest villains I have seen.
60fps, 4k…
Maybe it will be like Arpeggio of Blue Steel and Expelled from Paradise, everything will be 3DCG with no more handdrawn frames.
Yeah I could see that happening.
Maybe just like with everything else anime will too become CG! And perhaps many questions you’ve asked in the past will be reality! *dun dun duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuun!*
Lol that would be awesome!
