So I’m writing this post literally right after the Teen Choice Awards have ended (yes I know I’m not a teen but hey it was still interesting to watch) and while watching it I noticed that they now give out Internet and social media awards. For example YouTube and Vine. So this got me to think of do you think that anime YouTubers or bloggers will be recognized in that same spotlight.
I really want to say yes just because anything can happen but then another part of me says no just due to society. I definitely still see that separation in the media when it comes to anime. Anime is still looked at something as being underground and not really understood. Now there have been some changes when it comes to this but it’s not a huge amount.
For me by just looking at YouTube channels and blogs of people who do reviews on anime or anime related topics they are not as viewed as some channels. I think that greatly needs to be changed and I would love to see that happen or be the one to do it. Hey a girl can dream right haha.
But comment down below on what your thoughts are on this topic and if you think it could happen. I can’t wait to read your comments and discuss this more. Also I have made a YouTube channel so feel free to check it out the link is in my bio on my Twitter. So check it out!
~Anime Reviewer Girl!
Interesting. Of course I want Anime Bloggers/Vloggers to be recognized and respected by the rest of society, but I’m not really that bothered right now. If it happens, it happens. If not, well, someday. That’s how I feel right now, but I think this will change in the future. If I’m still blogging about anime when I’m old, perhaps I would like to have some form of recognition from others.
Yeah that’s kind of how I feel about it too. It would be awesome to see anime blogger or Youtubers recognized since they are such awesome individuals.
It would be a nice change to see a change where anime YouTubers and Bloggers getting noticed to public. I also agree with Arria Cross, it would not hurt to get noticed.
I nominated you to the new Free Spirit Award. Check out the link for the one rule and talk about whatever you want the topic to be.

Don’t worry I’m definitely starting to get used to it and I kind of like it.
That is great to hear. You are going places and you might be the one every anime fan will talk about all over YouTube ^^
Thank you so much! That makes me really happy to hear!
You’re welcome (:
goes well for you*
Reblogged this on Matt-in-the-Hat.
This is an interesting thought to think about. Rather than focusing on anime youtubers, I think the real question comes down to will a blogger of the written word ever get recognition for an award like that. I think audiences are more appealed to visuals like Youtube videos or vines as oppose to reading an article by a blogger (such as anime).
Anyways interesting thought.
Yeah I feel like bloggers might get noticed first as far as anime is concerned since so many people look online for recommendations. But your right many people do appeal to visuals more. Also thank you so much for commenting.
To your question: Gosh, I hope so! I have a swell time watching Youtubers that talk about anime, and I only wish they were a little more well known. As for bloggers, I think lynlynsays is right, and that people appeal more to visuals. But that’s not to say that we will never ever be recognized. The anime community is slowly but surely shelling out and revealing its many colors, but like I said, it’s still slow.
And because I’m a loser 🙂 I don’t have a Twitter. Do you mind dropping me a name so I can find you?
This is so true and I’m so happy that so many people are starting to voice their opinions when it comes to anime. It is so refreshing. Also for my YouTube here is the link: youtube.com/channel/UCnFUQ…
Thanks – Subscribed 🙂
I wish you the best of luck with your channel. Keep up the awesome work! Hehe
Thank you so much and also thank you for subscribing! I hope you enjoy my channel!
Anime has a passionate fan base, but yeah in terms of numbers it isn’t as popular as other geeky pursuits. If I reviewed movies instead of anime I’m sure I would have more followers.
Yeah that is true. If any of us did something that was more the norm then we would all probably have more followers.
I agree with your point. However , there a still a lot of things that are still not mainstream enough to be noticed. I personally watch”tokusatsu” way to much and anytime I try to even broach the topic they look at me like i have three heads. It still not main stream enough, then again we live in the a world were beauty gurus are more popular than book tubers so…. I dunno if this even makes sense…Interesting thoughts though.
An extra note about the Teen Choice Awards I was scrolling through the pictures on tumblr and I swear I wondered who are these people? I am not that old am ?….right…
Yeah that is true. Anime is still not as mainstream as many of us think since there are still a lot of show that people have never heard of. Also trust me your not the only one who didn’t know who some of those kids were.
There is a chance that we anime lovers could be recognized, but there are a lot of people don’t understand, like you said, and are like “I don’t understand this show, everyone’s either a demon or a school girl”. So it’s like a 50/50 chance. …not really.
Yeah I’m really hoping for that day to come!
