As many of you may or may not know I love my share of romantic anime but I would like to know which do you prefer when it comes to romance. Romantic drama or romantic comedy.
Now I do like romantic dramas
because the drama is what keeps the show interesting and at times will keep me watching. But there to me can be too much drama where it just goes completely overboard and this I don’t like.
My definite pick though has to go to romantic comedies.
I don’t know why but the comedic nature of the show paired with romance always makes it interesting. Also I don’t know what it is but with romantic comedy anime’s it just relaxes me.

I think I would pick romantic drama because it has proper relationship development. In romantic comedies, they just teases with the relationship and that frustrates me. Though to me, it’s fun to watch either actually.
Yeah sometimes I’m into the romantic dramas but the dramas sometimes continue to get me with the roller coaster ride.
Hmmmm. I generally like romantic comedy because I like to laugh. However, when I wasn’t to watch something more meaningful, I would watch romantic drama.
Yeah the comedic aspect of romantic comedies help me to just forget about everything. But yes the dramas are much more meaningful.
I choose Romantic Comedy. I am OK with drama but I much prefer to laugh(Which isn’t hard to know about me if you pay attention to what I watch on YouTube). I just really enjoy just being so happy,besides laughing is really good for you! 🙂 And I like how it makes me laugh and has some romance in it.
Yes! Plus laughter is the best medicine.
It really depends. On one hand sometimes if I think Romantic Comedy Harem series tend to come to mind. Drama has its own section as well. But if a series has a nice blend of both drama comedy that is really what I like more, it can’t be too dramatic or comedic, so it more relates to my personal taste. Really, although there are some that work over the others. Golden Time although can be very dramatic works well with comedy. Still the World is Beautiful works better as a drama, it just depends how well it is executed.
Yeah also it depends on what you are in the mood for.

I can’t choose between the two, I love both! It’s because I’m a romance genre bias but will pick the genre to watch depending on my mood. If I want to feel happy and lighthearted, I’d choose a rom-com (though there aren’t many good new ones these days) and if feel I like watching a long term relationship story, I’d go for a drama.
That’s exactly how I feel. It definitely depends on my mood.
When it comes to romance I seem to enjoy the dramas more. Besides, being a drama doesn’t prevent it from having a few jokes to lighten the mood.
Yeah that is definitely true.
It’s hard to choose. Romantic comedies might suffer the curse of not being funny. Like when they try to throw in humor at the wrong time or sporadically or even jokes that aren’t that good. But Romantic dramas can also have issues like forced drama and being so over dramatic it becomes exhausting to watch. I think Romcoms might be the safer bet because at least they don’t introduce that heavy character development so if it’s bad, you’re not as invested enough. So watching it becomes more fun or even gives you the opportunity to dropping it. I have more of a hard time dropping dramas because I might be in the middle of a show, hating it, but there might be a little hope that there will be a good character development or something to change things around. Usually I find myself more disappointed Lol. Sorry for the long comment D: Good question, though!

If the comedy is too cheesy, then a romance drama is always a good way to spend my time. If i was to choose one, i would pick comedy. Anime like Nisekoi makes me laugh when things are a tease.

I would pick Romance comedy over Romance drama. I have my fair share of romance drama (i.e. Peach girl) that causes me to shed tears.
Omg yes!! Peach Girl was a great anime but it had my emotions super high!
O I love both but I probably love romance comedy more as I feel it breaks up all the seriousness and is a great way for people who may not be a fan of the romance genre to watch 🙂
