Beast Master Manga Review! 😄

Published April 17, 2015 by Shay Taree
The manga I decided to read was one that I had been meaning to read for awhile. The manga is called Beast Master and I was really surprised by not only how good it is by how short it is too. The manga is only 7 chapters long and they were able to explain a lot in those few chapters. But here is the synopsis:
“Yuiko Kubozuka is a high school girl who loves animals. Unfortunately, animals hate her and flee from her whenever possible. So when a new classmate, Leo Aoi, turns out to be a scary guy who resembles a wild animal than anything human, she is intrigued. Not only because Reo has an affinity with animals which she envies, but also because he isn’t the wild animal that he seems to be. He seems to hide a very sweet disposition behind his scary features.

Or so she thought. The truth is revealed when they are attacked and Leo immediately behaves like a wild animal and gets violent like a blood-thirsty animal, just to save Yuiko.

Will Yuiko be able to tame this wildest of all animals or will he be just like the others and flee from her? Or the better question, will she flee from him?”

Alright so the first thing that I liked about Beast Master was just how opposite the 2 main characters are. Yuiko is quite a soft girl and quite innocent but she can be tough when she needs to be and Leo comes off as being scary when in reality he is just like a little kid that wants to be liked. I think that is what made me like this manga the most was that you were able to put yourself in Leo’s shoes when you haven’t been liked by someone but they don’t really know you.

Now of course this is a shoujo manga so I loved all the sweet moments between Leo and Yuiko. They were just so sweet and it was cool to see Leo protecting Yuiko and also see Yuiko being able to pull Leo back from being violent.

Now like I mentioned before this is a short manga and I feel like while it explain some things I feel that more things could be explain or could have been expanded on. For example the whole thing with Leo’s mother and father. I would love to know more about his parents relationship and why it ended up the way it did.

But overall I give Beast Master an 8/10. It was a really cute manga to read and was short read for those who don’t like long manga’s. But I would have to like to see more explaination on Leo’s backstory or even on Yuiko’s.

So check out this manga if you haven’t already. Comment down below what you thought of this review or this manga and like always I will answer back.

Paradise Kiss Anime Review

Published April 15, 2015 by Shay Taree
Yay!!! I finally got around to watching an anime that I have been meaning to watch for a while now and that’s Paradise Kiss. I had first heard about Paradise Kiss while looking for a good romance anime to watch but I wasn’t able to find a good website to watch it on. But finally I was able to and it was worth the wait. Also just to let you know there will be a few spoilers so if you don’t want to know about it then you may not want to read this review.
Here is the synopsis:
Yukari is a typical high-school student who listens to her parents and attends school everyday. As she starts to question her way of life, she encounters a group of fashion design students who have a clothing label known as “Paradise Kiss”. The group needs to find a model to showcase their designs in an up-coming fashion show and decides to pick Yukari. Initially, Yukari is reluctant to be associated with this seemingly eccentric group, but eventually she realises they are really nice people. Furthermore, their passion and enthusiasm to follow their ideals and dreams make Yukari realise that she has not been enjoying her life and thus motivates her to pursue her own dreams. The story follows Yukari as she gets involved in the group and eventually falls in love with the leader, George.”

While Paradise Kiss may seem like your run of the mill romance anime it actually goes a lot deeper than that. It’s a good coming to age anime to show how many high schoolers may feel when they aren’t for sure where their life is supposed to go next or if they are just doing what they are doing because of their parents. I definitely felt that way while in high school and I feel that way now and I’m an adult.
Also the romance with Yukari and George while it does happen fast it still gets you excited as a viewer as to what will happen next with them. George is a strange character because he is very mellow toned and your not for sure where he is coming from at times. At one point he has completely fallen for Yukari and in another scene he is not sure about her. It keeps you on your toes since there are many times during the series that I thought they were going to break up.
Paradise Kiss also had the perfect mix of characters where they were very comedic but it didn’t take away from the drama or romance in the show. It made it much more light hearted and I looked forward to those moments.

The music in the show was also amazing! I loved the opening song! It had a nice beat to it that made me not mind listening to it for 12 episodes.
Now the most surprising thing about Paradise Kiss had to be the ending. The two main characters Yukari and George who are the main couple in the show don’t end up together at the end. Due to certain circumstances they end up going their separate ways and at first I didn’t like this since I invested 12 episodes into this couple but then once I thought about it, I realized that I was glad that they didn’t end up together. George taught Yukari a lot about herself and what she wanted to do with her life and I think that is what he was there to do. There is no denying that they loved each other but they weren’t meant to stay together.

Now I did watch Paradise Kiss dubbed and it was good! The voices to me worked well with the characters. Also the show is rated R 17+ due to profanity and there is a few sex scenes but nothing raunchy so don’t worry but if your someone that doesn’t like that kind of thing then you may want to skip this show.
But overall I give this show an 9.5/10. Paradise Kiss wasn’t your regular shoujo anime and it made me think about when I was in high school. So check out Paradise Kiss if you haven’t already. So comment down below what you thought of this review or let me know what you thought of this show. Like always I will answer back.

Mamotte Lollipop Anime Review!

Published April 3, 2015 by Shay Taree

Hello everyone!!! I’m currently in the middle of watching an anime but I didn’t want to leave you guys hanging with out an anime review. So I decided to post a review on the anime Mamotte Lollipop also called Save Me Lollipop.

Mamotte Lolipop is an adorable show that had me laughing from beginning to end and it also had quite a few sweet moments between the characters as well. Oh and don’t forget that it also had some drama.

Here is the synopsis:
Nina, thinking it was a lolly, swallows an object called “Crystal Pearl”. But the candy turns out to be a test for the magicians. To retrieve the crystal, a special medicine has to be made so now Zero and Ichii, the magicians, have to protect her from others while waiting for the medicine to be completed.”

The anime was dubbed by Funimation and I watched the dub and found it to be done pretty well. You can find it on Funimation’s website for streaming as well as I’m sure on Hulu. So check it out.

I also read the manga under the same name as well as the sequel and both were done well and the anime followed the manga very well.

Overall I give this anime a 9/10 due to how cute and funny it was and also the sweet moments that made me go awwww or made my mouth drop open.

So thanks for reading this review and let me know what you think. Like always comment down below and I will answer back.

AAA Manga Review

Published March 11, 2015 by Shay Taree

Alright so I just finished reading the manga AAA by Fukushima Haruka. It was actually a really good manga and from the moment I started reading it I couldn’t stop. But here is the synopsis:

Ogata Aoi is in her 2nd year of middle school and is the president of the student council. The middle school she attends is one of the best in the country and is called “AAA”. Aoi goes there to meet her first love, but after a surprising meeting, she’s finding out that her first love is a gang leader in the neighbor school, called “CCC” (lowest level). Maybe it’s only a coincidence that that gang leader and her first love have the same name since they look completely different from each other, but now, Aoi wants to find more about this person….

This is definitely a shoujo manga (my favorite genre actually) but it actually reminded me a lot about Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. I’m not going to say to much regarding that because it may give some things away. Also AAA definitely had a twist in it that I didn’t see coming.

It had a lot of sweet moments that definitely made me swoon

as well as a few moments that had my heart beating fast because of what was going on.

It’s a quick read since it’s only 15 chapters long but it was definitely a good switch from the manga that I’ve been reading.

So if your looking for a short by good shoujo manga definitely check out AAA because it will have you enraptured from beginning to end. So I give AAA a 9/10 even though the plot could be kind of predictable at times but still it was just to sweet to not enjoy. Also I would love to see this made into an anime one day!

So let me know what you thought of this review and also let me know what manga’s you are reading. So comment down below and like always I will answer back!

Shōnen Hollywood Anime Review. ٩(͡๏̯͡๏)۶

Published February 21, 2015 by Shay Taree

Alright so I finished Shōnen Hollywood about a week ago and this was a strange anime to watch overall. I decided to watch this anime because I’ve watched musical anime’s before such as Uta No Prince Sama and La Corda D’Oro. So assumed there would be some similarities as well as differences but I didn’t really enjoy it.

So the gist of the show is about a group of guys that are scouted for various reasons to become basically the remix of a boy band that was around 15 years prior.

IMG_8843
At first I was excited about the show but then slowly but surely I started to lose interest and at times get confused. Now there were some enjoyable parts like some of the songs and the funny moments but overall I found the show to be very emotional in parts and not a emotional but an emotional where I was like why is he upset.

The character development of the series was okay because we did get the back story of a few of the characters but it wasn’t enough to get me to have an attachment to them or have my favorite. But it was just enough to keep me invested in the anime a bit longer.

IMG_8844
There weren’t many songs in the show overall but the opening song definitely had me nodding my head along so not all was lost. But the background music in the show didn’t catch my ear at all.

IMG_8845
Currently the 2nd season is airing and I’m debating watching it once it’s finished so we will see. But I’m leaning on the side of yes just so I can see of it gets better. But as an overall grade I will give this show a C-. While it did have a few enjoyable parts to keep me interested until the end there were definitely parts when my mind started to wander and I was waiting for something more to happen.

If you have seen this series let me know what you thought of it. Also if anyone is currently watching the 2nd season let me know if it’s worth watching. Leave your comment below and like always I will always answer.

My Top 5 Romantic Anime’s ❤︎(๑ᴖ◡ᴖ๑)❤︎

Published February 14, 2015 by Shay Taree

So usually I won’t post on Saturdays but since today is Valentine’s Day I’m making today a special post. So today I’m posting what my top 5 favorite Romantic anime’s are. I’ll also post the synopsis of them so everyone can decide if they will like to watch them or not.

1. Itazura Na Kiss:

IMG_8792
Ever since she entered high school, Kotoko Aihara wanted to be in the same class as Naoki Irie. The only problem is that Irie is the smartest student in school contrast to Kotoko being one of the dumbest. Now in her 3rd year of high school, she still isn’t there. However, one day her home gets destroyed and the only place left to go to was Irie’s home. Now that she lives close to him, will their relationship be the same, or will it become greater than it is?

2. Wolf Girl And Black Prince:

IMG_8793
The story centers around Erika Shinohara, a vain 16-year-old girl who tells her friends about her romantic exploits, but she actually has no boyfriend. She claims that a handsome boy in a candid photo is her boyfriend, but it turns out that boy is a schoolmate named Kyouya Sata. She has no choice but to make him her fake boyfriend. Unfortunately, Sata may look like a sweet person, but he is actually an ultra-black-hearted sadist. Sata takes advantage of Erika’s weakness and treats her like his dog.

3. Lovely Complex:

IMG_8794
Risa and Otani are always being laughed at as the comedy duo. Risa, a girl, is taller than the average girl, and Otani, a boy, is shorter than the average boy. The two are always bickering and even their teacher sees them as a comedy act. But as their friendship develops, so do Risa’s feelings toward Otani.

4. Kaichou Wa Maid-Sama:

IMG_8795
Misaki Ayuzawa is the first female student council president at a once-all-boys-turned-co-ed school. She rules the school with a strict discipline demeanor, but she has a secret: she works at a maid cafe due to her family’s circumstances. One day, the popular A-student and notorious heart-breaker Takumi Usui finds out her secret and makes a deal with her to keep it hush from the school in exchange for spending some time with him.

5. Peach Girl:

IMG_8796
Peach Girl is about an average high school girl, Momo Adachi, who everyone thinks is a beach bunny/slut because of her tanned skin. The actual reason she is so tanned is because she was on the swim team and tans very easily. She likes a boy, Toji, who she heard only likes non-tanned girls. This causes her to question who she is and have low self esteem. She spends a lot of time trying to remake herself into the girl she believes he wants; however, she has a friend, Sae, who likes to go behind Momo’s back and make her life terrible, mostly by trying to take Toji away from her. All the while there’s another boy, Kairi, who is in love with Momo.

Alright so those are my top 5 romantic anime’s that I think have varying levels of degrees when it comes to both romance and drama. To me they are are good to watch on Valentine’s Day whether you have someone or not. Also comment down below what your favorite romantic anime’s are or let me know what you think of the 5 that I listed.

Shoujo Anime….Why People Like It!

Published February 5, 2015 by Shay Taree

This was a topic that this crazy mind of mine thought up and also because I’ve seen quite a few posts about shoujo anime recently. But I was wondering why people enjoy shoujo anime so much?

IMG_8726
Now before I get flaming posts about this topic I just want to say that I have NOTHING against shoujo anime. I personally enjoy them a lot and I’m always looking for new ones (feel free to recommend some). I just wanted to know why they are so enjoyable.

IMG_8727
I mean is it the storyline, the characters, the music, the animation, the humor (in some cases), or could it just be that it’s anime so why not enjoy it hehe.

IMG_8729
But I can’t speak for anyone else but I think why I enjoy shoujo anime is so much is that I love to watch lighthearted anime’s sometimes to just escape and get away from the real world for just a little bit. Also it makes me happen to see someone even if it is someone that isn’t real get their happy ending and see things go right. Plus I’m a total romance kind of girl! I can’t help it!

IMG_8730
I also really like the music in this genre of shows, the animation at times can be really clean and sharp, and plus why lie but the guys are always so cute haha.

IMG_8731
But seriously why do you enjoy the shoujo genre? I would love to know! Comment down below and like always I will comment back!

Wolf Girl And Black Prince Anime Review

Published January 29, 2015 by Shay Taree

I’ve finally gotten a chance to watch an anime that I had been wanting to watch since I heard about it and that’s Wolf Girl and Black Prince. I had heard about this anime via Crunchyroll and also via an anime social media app that I frequent on called Anime Amino.

Like usual I waited until the anime was done airing before I watched it so that I could marathon it and wow was it worth the wait.

I immediately got hooked on the anime just by the opening song alone but then once it started with the main character Erika being a perpetual liar so that she can be welcomed by new friends by making up that she has a boyfriend. At first they believe her but after seeing no proof they start to think she is lying (which she is). Erika then takes a picture of random boy just to say that she has a picture but it turns out to be the most popular boy in school Kyoya Sata.

IMG_8682
To keep up the lie Kyoya pretends to be her boyfriend but treats her like a dog (literally) since he isn’t as sweet as he looks.

Pretty much after seeing all this happen after the first or second episode I was like I have to see more!!!! “o(*^▽^*)o” The anime then takes you through Erika and Kyoya’s relationship as they go from pretend boyfriend and girlfriend to actual boyfriend and girlfriend.

IMG_8683 Awww so sweet!!! ♡(๑′ᴗ‵๑)♡
As far as the characters go I actually really liked the female lead Erika because to me she acted like many want to act. Especially when it came to doing couple things because I’m sure that every girl pictures doing all the cliche things with whomever they like or are with at the time.

As for Kyoya, well I of course liked him because hey he is a very cute guy but throughout the series I would like and dislike him during certain parts. But hey I’m guess that’s what the producers wanted you to feel.

One part in particular is what I like to call the infamous water scene with Erika and Kyoya when he basically played a joke on her by pretending that he actually had mural feelings for her.

IMG_8684
At first it for my hopes up but once I realized that he was joking I immediately didn’t like him and was happy when Erika threw her glass of water on him. To me that was what he deserved and I could tell from the look on his face that he was shocked that she did that.

Now I can’t forget the music in the show which was amazing. My favorite some though in the series was of course the opening. It’s call Love Good Time and I was hooked onto the beat by the first episode. Even now I still play that song all the time on my phone and it’s one opening that I never skipped and would just let play for every episode.

So if you like shoujo anime’s and anime’s that put on an emotional roller coaster in some parts then you will definitely enjoy Wolf girl and Black Prince. You can watch it on Crunchyroll and the show is about 12 episodes so it’s pretty short. Also there is manga that is currently still on going and I plan to read it just to see what happens next.

SMC Episode 12 Review!

Published December 30, 2014 by Shay Taree

So as we all know the most recent episode of Sailor Moon Crystal aired a few weeks ago and I have to say that this episode was definitely one of the more exciting ones due to the fighting that was going on.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/58f/63247334/files/2014/12/img_8367.jpg
Although I still can’t help but not entirely like where exactly this show is going. I miss the wacky, crazy, humor side of the show and I don’t see that with this new series.

Now I know that this show is based off the manga but even so myself and one of my friends had to check and see if what had all happened was in the manga since I was a little rusty on the manga contents. But anyways this is a review about episode 12.

Now in episode 12 after it looks like Queen Beryl is defeated after revealing that she was in love with Mamoru during their past lives and was stabbed by Venus. Mamoru runs away and Usagi changes after him where they go to the brisk north.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/58f/63247334/files/2014/12/img_8366.png
She continually tries to get Mamoru to come back to hear by using the locket that she has and then ultimately brings him into a kiss and then stabs herself. This is where the episode ends and I couldn’t help but have a look of shock on my face when that happened.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/58f/63247334/files/2014/12/img_8363.png
While I haven’t been overall really liking this series that part definitely makes me want to watched the next episode. But did you guys this of last weeks episode? Also would you guys like me to post more since I only post on here twice a week?

So leave your comments below regarding both questions and happy watching!

Monthly Girls Nozaki Kun Review

Published December 23, 2014 by Shay Taree

Alright so I had started watching Monthly Girls Nozaki Kun after reading the synopsis of it and I found it to be pretty interesting. Well I’m sorry to say that I didn’t find it very interesting. It’s not very often that I don’t finish an anime but this was one of those times.

At first I found the anime to fairly sweet with the main female Chiyo being very cute but also really funny and the main male lead Nozaki being the oblivious male he is and not noticing Chiyo. But Nozaki is pretty focus on his career of writing shoujo manga and plus Chiyo didn’t exactly phrase her confession correctly when she did by saying she was a fan of his instead of saying she had feelings for him.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/58f/63247334/files/2014/12/img_8339.jpg
Now while you could tell that Chiyo had feelings for Nozaki it just seemed like there wasn’t a lot of romance going on in this anime. I was anticipating for it to happen at least a little bit but after being more than halfway through I just completely gave up. Not only that but I found the story line hard to follow and at times not understanding what was going on at all or the plot of the story.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/58f/63247334/files/2014/12/img_8340.gif
Now I know many people have enjoyed this anime and while I didn’t I may give the manga a chance to see if that is possibly better than the anime. So anyway if any of you have watched this anime then let me know your opinions of it and if I should give it another chance. For those of you who have read or are reading the manga let me know if it’s worth reading and better than the anime. Well that’s it for now so enjoy and happy watching.
