Relating To Specific Anime Characters!

Whenever I watch an anime I tend to notice that there are specific types of anime characters that I gravitate towards more.
I notice that I tend to always like the strong female characters and the goofy but lovable characters in shows.

For example when I was watching the show Nana I really liked Nana Osaki

because she was such a strong female lead but also had a soft side to her that I liked.

When watching Sailor Moon I always liked Usagi and also Rei. Usagi

because she was goofy, funny, and had a lot of faults that I could relate with. Plus she loved her friends and only wanted the best for them. For Rei

I also loved how strong she was and she also kind of had that I don’t care personality that I just quite don’t have.

For other shows for example like Lucky Star I gravitated towards the character Konata

because she was goofy and nerdy like I can be sometimes but she also likes to help her friends in not the best ways but hey it is still help.

Anime Cafe’s!!!

Everywhere that I go I seem to find some article or picture about an anime cafe popping up in Japan.

To be honest I really would like to visit one and see what they are like. They are so cute and look like a lot of fun but I do wonder about one thing. Like I wonder if even though the food is pretty to look at does it taste good?

I also would love if one were to open up in the states! I would totally go to see what all the fuss is about, of course take pictures, and also to buy lots of merchandise. So please open up either a Hello Kitty Cafe or Sailor Moon Cafe!

Do You Still Buy Anime?

I know this topic may seem pretty random but I just felt like it was something I wanted to discuss especially since I can’t remember the last time I bought an actual anime.
Now what I mean by bought doesn’t mean a subscription. What I mean by bought is going to a store or online and purchasing a physical copy of a show.

For me the last physical copy of a show that I purchased was Sailor Moon R the new dub that was done by Viz.

I honestly don’t buy anime as much as I used to and I think it’s because a lot things are now digitally available.

But what anime was that last one that you physically bought? Also do you still try and purchase a physical copy of an anime or do you now use subscription services like Netflix to watch anime?

I’m very interested in knowing those answers to please comment down below. I can’t wait to read them.

Favorite OTP’s?

So since today is Monday I wanted to have a more lighthearted post. So I want to know what is your favorite OTP’s.

For me I have a few but I guess my top 4 have to be from the shows Sailor Moon, Pokemon, Inuyasha, and Bleach.

From Sailor Moon it of course has to be Serena/Usagi and Darien/Mamoru.

For me it’s just that they were the first anime couple that I completely adored!!!

For Pokemon it is no surprise that I chose Ash and Misty.

Now while they didn’t get together in the actual show but everyone knows that they were made for each other

Now Inuyasha it is of course without a doubt Inuyasha and Kagome.

Everyone was waiting for these 2 to kiss or get together so when they finally did it made me one very happy girl.

So when it comes to Bleach it still is a bit of a debate as for if Ichigo ends with anyone who would it be. But I think it’s going to be Rukia so I’m going with that.

Anime You Wish Your Life Was Like?

Yes you definitely read the title correctly. What anime do you wish your life was like?

I know that all of us have at one time or another wondered how our lives would be different if they were like our favorite anime’s. I know that I definitely have.

I think if I had to choose I would of course say Sailor Moon or Pokemon. Sailor moon

because I think it would be fun but stressful to have to save the world. But I also would love to be a princess. Having a group of friends to help you along the way would also be fun too.

Now when it comes to Pokemon

I would love if my life were like that because who wouldn’t want their own Pokemon. I would love to have my very own Pikachu. Plus being able to travel would be amazing!

What Anime’s Would You Show Your Kids?

So for those of you have kids or even though who don’t I was wondering what anime you would show your kids to introduce them to anime?
Now I got the idea for this topic because I saw the same topic in the MAL forums and it got me to thinking.

I think that when I have kids I would probably show them the anime’s that I liked as a kid that got me interested in anime. So that would be anime’s like Sailor Moon,

Dragon Ball Z,

& also possibly Yu Yu Hakusho.

What If Disney Got The Rights To An Anime?

So since I was in Disneyland for a few days that made me really think about what if Disney got the rights to an anime.
I know that a lot of other companies have gotten the rights to animes and have either dubbed them or made them into movies. But what anime’s that have already been made would you not mind if Disney had of gotten the rights to it.
The only anime that I can think of is Sailor Moon and that’s mostly because Disney at least to me has done the Princess thing quite well. But they also need much stronger female characters. At least to me they do. Also since Disney is mainly known for their princesses (and Mickey Mouse) it would fit right into what they have usually done.

But if Disney went with an action series I could see them going with either Dragon Ball Z

or Yu Yu Hakusho.

Just because while they both had action in them they also had some really great funny moments and great character development.

Favorite Anime Crossover

So I for one am a huge fan of anime crossovers and I definitely have a few favorites! But first let me explain how I came across anime crossovers in general. For me I came across them in the world of fanfiction. On fanfiction.net there is actually a link where you can read crossover fanfiction and that is where I started to wonder what anime would I love to see a crossover with.
At this moment I actually have 5 anime’s that I don’t mind the crossovers of and those are Sailor Moon

Dragon Ball Z,

Inuyasha,

Bleach,

and Yu Yu Hakusho.

I’ve read a few fanfictions involving them before and I found them to be quite good.

One of them was a crossover between Sailor Moon and Dragon Ball Z in which Vegeta and Usagi/Serena were the main couple.

One is a crossover between Bleach and Inuyasha with Kagome and Ichigo as the main couple

and the last one is Yu Yu Hakusho and Inuyasha.

Yes I know that many of those series being lumped together are quite weird but hey try them because some of them are quite cool.

Sailor Moon Crystal Anime Review!

Since I was off work this weekend I decided to finally finish Sailor Moon Crystal especially since it is finally finish airing. But let me just say I was definitely disappointed over how it turned out.

Now I was definitely a fan of the first series since it was the first anime I watch as kid so I’m not saying I didn’t like it because it’s not like the original. Trust me I definitely thought of Sailor Moon Crystal as its own separate show. The biggest problem I had with the show was the plot and the characterization.

For me I felt like Sailor Moon a Crystal’s plot was just wayyyyy too serious and way to focused on Usagi and Mamoru’s relationship.

While watching Sailor Moon Crystal there were just way to many moments were Usagi was crying or they were constantly fighting someone or trying to figure something out. There were never any moments were they were having fun. This was one moment where I honestly missed filler episodes in a show. I mean I also read the manga and Crystal is supposed to follow the manga more closely and even in the manga there were filler chapters and laughter.

Now for characterization I feel Crystal took a huge hit with that and I think it’s because of the focus on Usagi and Mamoru so much. I feel that none of the other Sailor Scouts were properly introduced with their different personalities and background. This for me caused me to know really have an attachment to them and the only characters that I felt attachment too were Usagi and Mamoru. Well at least that was the case for the Dark Kingdom arc.

When it came to the Black Moon arc there was definitely some character development which saved the show just a little bit for me.

That being said the whole show wasn’t completely bad. I definitely enjoyed the Black Moon arc the most. There was a lot more action which was great to see and great character development beyond Usagi and Mamoru. Also the opening for Crystal was just amazing and I couldn’t help watching it every time I watched an episode.

Overall though even with the better arc when it came to the Black Moon it still couldn’t save the show for me. I ended up giving this show a 5/10. It wasn’t completely bad but I definitely didn’t enjoy it like I thought I would. Hopefully the next season is better if they have realized the mistakes that was made with this season.
