We Were There Manga Review

Published August 21, 2015 by Shay Taree

Yes I know this is long time coming considering that the anime finished awhile back as well as the manga. But I recently picked it up again and finally finished it so here are my thoughts.

The biggest thing that I realized about this manga is that it comes off as being a really sweet manga but in reality it is a big emotional roller coaster. I have not been on a roller coaster ride like that when it comes to a manga in a sooooo long. It was refreshing to see but it did get very tiring after a while.

The art style for the manga was actually really interesting and I really like it. The art didn’t interfere with trying to read the speech bubbles. Which is very frustrating to have happen.

The only other thing that I didn’t like about this manga is that the ending is very lack luster. After all the drama that happened I thought the ending would be much better but it was one of those endings where the ending was similar to specific place in their past that was special to them.

Not that it’s a bad thing it’s just that after that emotional roller coaster ride I was hoping for just a little bit more.
Overall though I give this manga a 7/10. The art was amazing but the ending I had to dock points for. Comment down below though on what you thought of this manga if you read it and also this review. I can’t wait to read them!

Rockin Heaven Manga Review!

Published July 29, 2015 by Shay Taree

I haven’t done a manga review in a while so I decided it was about time I did another and plus I was in the mood for reading a good shoujo manga.
The manga I chose was called Rockin Heaven and here is the synopsis:

“Sawa applies to Heaven’s Wing Academy, thinking she would look cute in the uniform. But she never expected the academy to be a previously all-boys’ school! And the head honcho of the school, the class president himself doesn’t seem to like her one bit and takes no pains to hide it. At first, adjusting to life at the academy is tough. Sawa is bullied and teased, and the boys in the class even throw her new shoes in the water. While attempting to retrieve her shoes, she falls into the water and is unexpectedly saved by Ran, who up until this point has made her life hell. The newfound gentleness in Ran intrigues her, and she finds herself falling for him. What will her days be like for the rest of her school life?”

So I’m not going to lie it was your typical girl meets boy, boy meets girl, and drama happens which involves a lot of misunderstandings and love triangles. But still I could but have certain moments where I screamed in anguish off what happened or squealed with happiness when two characters kissed.

One of the things I really liked about this manga is that none of the characters were side characters. They each had their own thing going on which was interesting to see. Also they gave a breath of fresh air knowing that whole manga wasn’t going to be about the main characters love story but also other characters relationships as well. There was even some friendship drama thrown in which was also nice.

I also really liked how the manga didn’t end with just their graduation but it also gave an epilogue into their adult lives. That was really nice to see and was a great ending.

So if your looking for a shoujo manga that is kind of your typical shoujo manga but with a great cost of characters and other stories written in between then definitely check out Rockin Heaven!

So overall I gave this manga a 8/10. Comment down below on what you thought of this manga if you read it or what you thought of this review! Join in the conversation!

Bleach Chapter 625 Review!

Published May 14, 2015 by Shay Taree

So this time it’s not a discussion topic this time it is a review. I finally got a chance to read chapter 625 of Bleach and while there wasn’t a lot of action in this chapter there was still a lot that happened.

In the last chapter we were re-introduced to Grimmjow and I was so happy to have seen him return. Well in this chapter we were able to see that Grimmjow wasn’t the only character that has returned. Nel has returned

along with Riruka!

Yay!!! So there is a lot of explanation that needs to happen so overall I give this chapter a 7/10 due to many characters returning. But if you haven’t checked out the recent chapter check out soon. If you have then comment down below what you thought of it!

Bleach Chapter 624 Shocker!!! ðŸ˜±

Published April 26, 2015 by Shay Taree

Yes I do know what day it is and that I don’t really post on Sunday’s but I just had to post today!

I was finally able to catch up on my manga reading and the latest Bleach chapter had me screaming! Sorry for the spoiler but Grimmjow is back!

I knew that he couldn’t possibly be dead and I had heard rumors about this a few years back and I can’t believe that it’s true. Grimmjow is one of my favorite villains/characters so I’m excited to see what will happen next.

But what did you all think of this chapter and what do you suspect will happen now that Grimmjow is back. Comment down below and I will answer you back! Also how would you feel if I started an Instagram page for this blog? Comment about that as well!

Beast Master Manga Review! ðŸ˜„

Published April 17, 2015 by Shay Taree
The manga I decided to read was one that I had been meaning to read for awhile. The manga is called Beast Master and I was really surprised by not only how good it is by how short it is too. The manga is only 7 chapters long and they were able to explain a lot in those few chapters. But here is the synopsis:
“Yuiko Kubozuka is a high school girl who loves animals. Unfortunately, animals hate her and flee from her whenever possible. So when a new classmate, Leo Aoi, turns out to be a scary guy who resembles a wild animal than anything human, she is intrigued. Not only because Reo has an affinity with animals which she envies, but also because he isn’t the wild animal that he seems to be. He seems to hide a very sweet disposition behind his scary features.

Or so she thought. The truth is revealed when they are attacked and Leo immediately behaves like a wild animal and gets violent like a blood-thirsty animal, just to save Yuiko.

Will Yuiko be able to tame this wildest of all animals or will he be just like the others and flee from her? Or the better question, will she flee from him?”

Alright so the first thing that I liked about Beast Master was just how opposite the 2 main characters are. Yuiko is quite a soft girl and quite innocent but she can be tough when she needs to be and Leo comes off as being scary when in reality he is just like a little kid that wants to be liked. I think that is what made me like this manga the most was that you were able to put yourself in Leo’s shoes when you haven’t been liked by someone but they don’t really know you.

Now of course this is a shoujo manga so I loved all the sweet moments between Leo and Yuiko. They were just so sweet and it was cool to see Leo protecting Yuiko and also see Yuiko being able to pull Leo back from being violent.

Now like I mentioned before this is a short manga and I feel like while it explain some things I feel that more things could be explain or could have been expanded on. For example the whole thing with Leo’s mother and father. I would love to know more about his parents relationship and why it ended up the way it did.

But overall I give Beast Master an 8/10. It was a really cute manga to read and was short read for those who don’t like long manga’s. But I would have to like to see more explaination on Leo’s backstory or even on Yuiko’s.

So check out this manga if you haven’t already. Comment down below what you thought of this review or this manga and like always I will answer back.

AAA Manga Review

Published March 11, 2015 by Shay Taree

Alright so I just finished reading the manga AAA by Fukushima Haruka. It was actually a really good manga and from the moment I started reading it I couldn’t stop. But here is the synopsis:

Ogata Aoi is in her 2nd year of middle school and is the president of the student council. The middle school she attends is one of the best in the country and is called “AAA”. Aoi goes there to meet her first love, but after a surprising meeting, she’s finding out that her first love is a gang leader in the neighbor school, called “CCC” (lowest level). Maybe it’s only a coincidence that that gang leader and her first love have the same name since they look completely different from each other, but now, Aoi wants to find more about this person….

This is definitely a shoujo manga (my favorite genre actually) but it actually reminded me a lot about Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. I’m not going to say to much regarding that because it may give some things away. Also AAA definitely had a twist in it that I didn’t see coming.

It had a lot of sweet moments that definitely made me swoon

as well as a few moments that had my heart beating fast because of what was going on.

It’s a quick read since it’s only 15 chapters long but it was definitely a good switch from the manga that I’ve been reading.

So if your looking for a short by good shoujo manga definitely check out AAA because it will have you enraptured from beginning to end. So I give AAA a 9/10 even though the plot could be kind of predictable at times but still it was just to sweet to not enjoy. Also I would love to see this made into an anime one day!

So let me know what you thought of this review and also let me know what manga’s you are reading. So comment down below and like always I will answer back!

Naruto Manga Review!

Published December 2, 2014 by Shay Taree

Alright so now that the Naruto manga is now over I decided to do a review on it. So here goes! Also if you haven’t read the manga then warning there are SPOILERS!!! (Sorry)

I through enjoyed this manga but I can’t help but wish that each chapter was a lot longer! Each chapter was arounds 21-24 pages long which was not nearly long enough because it definitely kept me hanging. But in a way the shorter chapters were a good thing since it kept me excited to read the next chapter when it was released.

I also can’t help but say that the fact that the author killed off some pretty notable characters such as Jiraya, Neji, and Asuna was unbelievable and actually made the story even better. It also made me feel something for all the characters that were involved.

Speaking of which the one thing that really touched me was the back story behind what happened to Naruto in the first place. I couldn’t help but really feel for Naruto and get sad especially since Naruto didn’t ask for any of it and he was really picked on and shunned because of it. It made me wonder what I would do if I was in that situation which is a funny thought of you think about it. But overall that was one of things that I enjoyed.

IMG_8230.JPG
The artwork of the manga was amazing and very easy to follow even when there was a fight scene going on. So thanks so much for that.

One thing I know that a few fans myself included are thankful for is the fact that several pairings that people wanted to see happen did end up happening. It felt good to know that us as the reader was right when it came to guessing or pairing up who was going to end up with who.

IMG_8235.JPG
The only things I didn’t like about the manga was the ending. I feel like even after all those chapters that it was still rushed. We didn’t get to see what happened after Naruto and Sasuke’s fight, we didn’t get to see Kakashi as Hokage, we didn’t get to see how Naruto became Hokage and the drama that may have caused, and above all else we didn’t get to see our many favorite pairings in the manga finally get together. But hopefully that will all be answered in the last Naruto movie!

But overall the Naruto manga was very enjoyable to read and definitely a manga I’m sad to see end. But it had to end at some point. So for those of you who haven’t read it you should and for those of you who have what did you think of it? Leave your comments below with your opinions and let me know!

Happy Marriage Manga Review

Published November 11, 2014 by Shay Taree

So I started reading Happy Marriage when I came across the manga in my local bookstore. I was immediately hooked and had to finish this manga and find out what happens. I then downloaded it onto my phone via one of my many manga apps and started reading. So I’m going to post the synopsis and then my review.

Synopsis: Men: they’re the root of Takanashi Chiwa’s problems, which is why she never had the time nor the opportunity to have a boyfriend in her entire life. A full-time office lady and a part-time hostess, she works night and day to pay off her dad’s debt from his failed business. One night at her part-time job, a high-class customer has her fired. Then the next day, she’s called in to see the president—whom she had never even seen before in the office—only to find out she’s to marry him! But what kind of guy is Mamiya Hokuto anyway? Will he become one of Chiwa’s problems, or will he save her from them? And will this marriage even last?!

Art: So art in mangas is a big thing for me since sometimes I’ve seen where the art can cause me to get confused as to what is happening in the series or I get confused as to who is talking due to all the talk bubbles. But this art was very easy to follow along and I wasn’t overwhelmed with talk bubbles that interfered with my experience reading it. The main female lead in the manga is drawn very pretty and she is a very feminine looking character. She looks rather plain looking but I like that since it makes you kind of see yourself in her no matter how you actually look. The main male lead in the show is drawn vet masculine looking. I know that in some shoujo mangas the male lead can be drawn very pretty boyish but this character is drawn very tough and stern looking which you don’t see in very many shoujo mangas.

Story: The story of this manga flowed rather well but I can’t lie I got very tired with the up and down sequence of the story. It was like something bad was always happening to the characters and then there was high point but then something else bad would happen. It was a constant play on my emotions which I sometimes liked but than at other times I would hang my head and be like when is this going to be over. But the story did give a very satisfying ending which made the constant up and down of emotions worth it.

Characters: So there are quite a few characters in this manga but I’m only going to talk about the main lead characters. The female lead while she was very strong she had moments where it was like she didn’t know what she wanted and kept flip flopping with what she wanted from the main male lead. But I can’t lie through all that I could still find myself in her. Now the male lead was a very strong character and at time came of cold but that is what made him attractive. Now over the course of the manga his character did change and he became more loving and opened up more but would go back to being cold but it made you as reading crave and want to see more of his loving side.

So that is my review and I hope you guys check out this manga because it is really good.

Sailor Moon Volume 8 Review!

Published February 4, 2014 by Shay Taree

So like many others I was so excited to find out that the Sailor Moon manga was being re released so I of course have been buying each volume. So here is my review about Volume 8.

Volume 8 was well really good. Reading it brought back memories of me watching it happen in the anime but this was so much better. You have Pharaoh 90 taking over Hotaru’s body but Hotaru is trying to fight back as well as keep safe the soul of Chibi Usa and also the legendary silver crystal.

Then the souls of the sailor scouts are then taken as well but Hotaru is about the keep them safe as well and keep them from being absorbed.

There was only one thing I didn’t like about the manga and it’s just that the attack names can definitely sometimes be very ridiculous. I mean one of Jupitar’s attacks has the word coconut in it. Just plain weird!

But the manga also had it’s sad and sweet moment when Sailor Uranus, Sailor Neptune, and Sailor Pluto leave and say goodbye and with them is a baby Sailor Saturn who help them to of course save the planet. It was a really sweet moment when they said they would all raise and definitely had me saying awwww since baby Sailor Saturn looked so cute!

But anyway definitely check out the manga if you haven’t already and now I’m reading volume 9 so look for that review soon.
