We Were There Manga Review

Published August 21, 2015 by Shay Taree

Yes I know this is long time coming considering that the anime finished awhile back as well as the manga. But I recently picked it up again and finally finished it so here are my thoughts.

The biggest thing that I realized about this manga is that it comes off as being a really sweet manga but in reality it is a big emotional roller coaster. I have not been on a roller coaster ride like that when it comes to a manga in a sooooo long. It was refreshing to see but it did get very tiring after a while.

The art style for the manga was actually really interesting and I really like it. The art didn’t interfere with trying to read the speech bubbles. Which is very frustrating to have happen.

The only other thing that I didn’t like about this manga is that the ending is very lack luster. After all the drama that happened I thought the ending would be much better but it was one of those endings where the ending was similar to specific place in their past that was special to them.

Not that it’s a bad thing it’s just that after that emotional roller coaster ride I was hoping for just a little bit more.
Overall though I give this manga a 7/10. The art was amazing but the ending I had to dock points for. Comment down below though on what you thought of this manga if you read it and also this review. I can’t wait to read them!

Romantic Drama or Romantic Comedy?

Published June 1, 2015 by Shay Taree

As many of you may or may not know I love my share of romantic anime but I would like to know which do you prefer when it comes to romance.  Romantic drama or romantic comedy.

Now I do like romantic dramas

because the drama is what keeps the show interesting and at times will keep me watching.  But there to me can be too much drama where it just goes completely overboard and this I don’t like.

My definite pick though has to go to romantic comedies.

I don’t know why but the comedic nature of the show paired with romance always makes it interesting. Also I don’t know what it is but with romantic comedy anime’s it just relaxes me.

So which do you like better. Comment down below to let me know!  Can’t wait to read your responses.

My Top 5 Romantic Anime’s ❤︎(๑ᴖ◡ᴖ๑)❤︎

Published February 14, 2015 by Shay Taree

So usually I won’t post on Saturdays but since today is Valentine’s Day I’m making today a special post. So today I’m posting what my top 5 favorite Romantic anime’s are. I’ll also post the synopsis of them so everyone can decide if they will like to watch them or not.

1. Itazura Na Kiss:

Ever since she entered high school, Kotoko Aihara wanted to be in the same class as Naoki Irie. The only problem is that Irie is the smartest student in school contrast to Kotoko being one of the dumbest. Now in her 3rd year of high school, she still isn’t there. However, one day her home gets destroyed and the only place left to go to was Irie’s home. Now that she lives close to him, will their relationship be the same, or will it become greater than it is?

2. Wolf Girl And Black Prince:

The story centers around Erika Shinohara, a vain 16-year-old girl who tells her friends about her romantic exploits, but she actually has no boyfriend. She claims that a handsome boy in a candid photo is her boyfriend, but it turns out that boy is a schoolmate named Kyouya Sata. She has no choice but to make him her fake boyfriend. Unfortunately, Sata may look like a sweet person, but he is actually an ultra-black-hearted sadist. Sata takes advantage of Erika’s weakness and treats her like his dog.

3. Lovely Complex:

Risa and Otani are always being laughed at as the comedy duo. Risa, a girl, is taller than the average girl, and Otani, a boy, is shorter than the average boy. The two are always bickering and even their teacher sees them as a comedy act. But as their friendship develops, so do Risa’s feelings toward Otani.

4. Kaichou Wa Maid-Sama:

Misaki Ayuzawa is the first female student council president at a once-all-boys-turned-co-ed school. She rules the school with a strict discipline demeanor, but she has a secret: she works at a maid cafe due to her family’s circumstances. One day, the popular A-student and notorious heart-breaker Takumi Usui finds out her secret and makes a deal with her to keep it hush from the school in exchange for spending some time with him.

5. Peach Girl:

Peach Girl is about an average high school girl, Momo Adachi, who everyone thinks is a beach bunny/slut because of her tanned skin. The actual reason she is so tanned is because she was on the swim team and tans very easily. She likes a boy, Toji, who she heard only likes non-tanned girls. This causes her to question who she is and have low self esteem. She spends a lot of time trying to remake herself into the girl she believes he wants; however, she has a friend, Sae, who likes to go behind Momo’s back and make her life terrible, mostly by trying to take Toji away from her. All the while there’s another boy, Kairi, who is in love with Momo.

Alright so those are my top 5 romantic anime’s that I think have varying levels of degrees when it comes to both romance and drama. To me they are are good to watch on Valentine’s Day whether you have someone or not. Also comment down below what your favorite romantic anime’s are or let me know what you think of the 5 that I listed.

Happy Marriage Manga Review

Published November 11, 2014 by Shay Taree

So I started reading Happy Marriage when I came across the manga in my local bookstore. I was immediately hooked and had to finish this manga and find out what happens. I then downloaded it onto my phone via one of my many manga apps and started reading. So I’m going to post the synopsis and then my review.

Synopsis: Men: they’re the root of Takanashi Chiwa’s problems, which is why she never had the time nor the opportunity to have a boyfriend in her entire life. A full-time office lady and a part-time hostess, she works night and day to pay off her dad’s debt from his failed business. One night at her part-time job, a high-class customer has her fired. Then the next day, she’s called in to see the president—whom she had never even seen before in the office—only to find out she’s to marry him! But what kind of guy is Mamiya Hokuto anyway? Will he become one of Chiwa’s problems, or will he save her from them? And will this marriage even last?!

Art: So art in mangas is a big thing for me since sometimes I’ve seen where the art can cause me to get confused as to what is happening in the series or I get confused as to who is talking due to all the talk bubbles. But this art was very easy to follow along and I wasn’t overwhelmed with talk bubbles that interfered with my experience reading it. The main female lead in the manga is drawn very pretty and she is a very feminine looking character. She looks rather plain looking but I like that since it makes you kind of see yourself in her no matter how you actually look. The main male lead in the show is drawn vet masculine looking. I know that in some shoujo mangas the male lead can be drawn very pretty boyish but this character is drawn very tough and stern looking which you don’t see in very many shoujo mangas.

Story: The story of this manga flowed rather well but I can’t lie I got very tired with the up and down sequence of the story. It was like something bad was always happening to the characters and then there was high point but then something else bad would happen. It was a constant play on my emotions which I sometimes liked but than at other times I would hang my head and be like when is this going to be over. But the story did give a very satisfying ending which made the constant up and down of emotions worth it.

Characters: So there are quite a few characters in this manga but I’m only going to talk about the main lead characters. The female lead while she was very strong she had moments where it was like she didn’t know what she wanted and kept flip flopping with what she wanted from the main male lead. But I can’t lie through all that I could still find myself in her. Now the male lead was a very strong character and at time came of cold but that is what made him attractive. Now over the course of the manga his character did change and he became more loving and opened up more but would go back to being cold but it made you as reading crave and want to see more of his loving side.

So that is my review and I hope you guys check out this manga because it is really good.
