I know that a lot of people aren’t going to agree with me but something needs to be done regarding these mass shootings. In 12 hours the U.S has had 2 shootings and it’s the 3rd one in a week. I don’t know about everyone else but constantly hearing about these things happening are making me scared and angry.

I’m scared because it’s making me watch my back when I go out in public for fear of someone doing this. I’m afraid that people I love and care about are going to be apart of something like this. We shouldn’t be afraid of going to a mall, a concert, or anywhere meant for fun and families and feel like at any moment someone is going to show up with a gun and just start shooting.

I’m also angry because the only thing you ever hear now is about thoughts and prayers but there is no action. Every time gun control is brought up people get upset and feel like it would take away a right. Which yes it would but to be honest I rather feel somewhat safe being in a public place instead of feeling scared every time I went out. People are saying that guns should be carried to protect citizens but in all 3 of these situations people were just trying to get away and save others. No one was trying to engage with this individual.

I just can’t wrap my head around this and the bad part is that I’m sure that in a week people are going to forget these ever happened. That is the country we live in. I don’t know about everyone else but I really hope that something changes soon. I don’t want to be afraid anymore.
