Anime You Expected Not To Enjoy But Did?

Published May 8, 2015 by Shay Taree

I know that many of us have gone in expecting one thing but then completely end up with something else. Many of us go in expecting not to enjoy a specific anime whether it’s because of the art style, genre, or even just the story line. But many times regardless of these things you end up being pleasantly surprised to realize you enjoyed it a lot.

The show that did this for me is actually now one of my favorites that I can watch over and over again. That show is Ouran High School Host Club.

At first I had actually dropped the show a few minutes into the first episode but then maybe a few months later after hearing a lot about the show I decided to give it another chance and I throughally enjoyed it!

So what show did you expected not to enjoy but you did? Comment down below and let me know!

Anime Hairstyles!

Published May 7, 2015 by Shay Taree

Yes I am doing a post about anime hairstyles since I know that many of us have found them not only cute but also just amazing. Plus besides Disney, anime has given me some unrealistic but also fun ways to try and do my hair.

So using the term unrealistic isn’t a bad thing so don’t get mad at me its just my way of saying that my hair doesn’t do what their hair does in the show. My hair is naturally thick so I straighten is chemically and it’s not super long. But I still try to do a few or I at least want to.

But how about everyone else? What do you think of anime hair and have you every tried doing the styles that are in the shows? Let me know your experience and what you think my commenting below.

My Top 5 Psycological Anime’s

Published March 30, 2015 by Shay Taree
Since I recently got one of my friends into watching a great psychological anime I thought it would be cool if I posted my top 5 psychological anime’s. I will also post the synopsis of each series. Also I got the synopsis from myanimelist.net!

My top psychological anime’s

Death Note

“Yagami Light is a 17-year-old genius from Japan who is tired of his life, school, and the state of the world as he knows it. One day, on the way home from class, Light stumbles upon a dark notebook with “Death Note” written on the front. Intrigued by its appearance, Light reads the first few sentences, only to find out that it states that anyone whose name is written inside will die. Discarding it as a joke, Light continues his daily activities. Soon after though, his human curiosity takes the better of him and prompts Light to try the notebook, discovering the truth behind the first sentence. Now, with power in his hands, Yagami Light is on a quest to change the world and become God of the New World. His path to holy status won’t be easy however, as another genius, known as L, is working against Light’s beliefs and Light himself. Who will win this power of Gods between humans?”
Elfen Lied

“The Diclonius, a mutated homosapien that is said to be selected by God and will eventually become the destruction of mankind, possess two horns on their heads and have a “sixth sense” which gives them telekinetic abilities. Due to this dangerous power, they have been captured and isolated in laboratories by the government. Lucy, a young and psychotic Diclonius, manages to break free of her confines and brutally murders most of the guards in the laboratory where she is being held, only to be shot in the head as she makes her escape. She survives, falling off a cliff into the ocean and manages to drift along to a beach where two teenagers, Kouta and Yuka, discover her. Having lost her memories, she was named after the only thing that she can now say, “Nyuu,” and the two allow her to stay at Kouta’s home. However, it appears that the psychotic side of Lucy is not dead just yet…”
Higarashi No Naku Koro Ni Series

“After moving into the quiet town of Hinamizawa, Maebara Keiichi spends his days blissfully in school often playing games with his local friends. However, appearances can be deceiving. One fateful day, Keiichi stumbles upon news of a murder that had occurred in Hinamizawa. From this point on, horrific events unfold in front of Keiichi, as he soon learns his close friends may not be all that they seem. Based on the amateur mystery game by 07th Expansion, the story is told in a series of different scenarios.”
Mirai Nikki

“This psychological thriller, based on the manga written and illustrated by Sakae Esuno, is about Yuki, a loner who’s not very good with people. He prefers to write a diary on his cell phone and talk to his imaginary friend, Deus Ex Machina – The God of Time and Space. However, Yuki soon learns that Deus is more than a figment of his imagination when he makes Yuki participate in a battle royale with eleven others. The contestants are given special diaries that can predict the future, each diary possessing unique features that give it both advantages and disadvantages. Within the next 90 days, the contestants must try to survive until there is only one left standing. The winner will become the new God of Time and Space.”
xxxHolic

“Watanuki Kimihiro can see spirits and other assorted supernatural creatures, which is quite a bothersome ability he strongly dislikes. On the way home one day, while plagued by some spirits, he is inexplicably compelled to enter a strange house. There, he encounters Yuuko, a mysterious woman who claims to be able to rid him of the ability to see and attract the troublesome creatures—for a price. She demands that he work at her “store” that grants wishes to people, and thus begins Watanuki’s adventures through weird and wonderful events.”

Alright so that is my top 5! Let me know what you think of my top 5 and let me know what yours are! Comment down below and like always I will always answer back!

Team Rocket Change

Published October 17, 2014 by Shay Taree

So I recently finished a good portion of Pokemon Black and White and there has been a huge change in Team Rocket and I thought I would like it but I don’t.

Before like everyone knew Team Rocket was the funny element of the show where they would never win and get what they wanted but it was funny seeing them try. Plus I have to admit I loved seeing all their different disguises that they would come up with.

But when I started watching Black and White I realized two things about Team Rocket with this season: 1) Team Rocket wasn’t in the season that often. They were honestly only in the series a handful of times and it was mostly toward the end with the bigger dilemma. 2) Team Rocket was more serious! There was no disguises, no crazy schemes, and no crazy blasting off which was always the funniest and most satisfying thing to see at the end of each episode.

I really hope that in the next season of Pokemon that I plan to watch soon (but not too soon since I’m going to take a break and catch up on Fairy Tail) that Team Rocket will be in it more and be their funny selves again.

But that’s it for now and tell me what you guys thought of this new Team Rocket when you saw them in the Black and White season of Pokemon.

Aishiteriuze Baby Review

Published January 30, 2014 by Shay Taree

I watched this anime a long time ago but it is still one of the few animes that gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside.

This anime tells the story of a high school boy by the name of Kippei and he is a very flirtatious boy who flirts with every female and is know as a player. Well he ends up having to take on a lot more responsibility when his aunt Miyako disappears and leaves her 5 year old daughter Yuzuyu alone. Kippei then is given the task of having to take care of Yuzuyu which along the way causes him to grow up.

This was a really sweet anime that even have some romance in it for you romance junkies like myself. The only downside to this anime is that while it does end pretty well there is also a manga which I definitely recommend that you read as well. The manga gives a much more complete ending and it’s also a little sad too. But one this is definitely for sure is that if you watch Aishiteruze Baby you will be looking for more animes just like it.

Mori X Haruhi Shipping

Published January 29, 2014 by Shay Taree

So I love to read fan fiction and I know that it’s something that some anime fans like and some don’t. I tend to enjoy it and even though good well written stories are few and far between some are rather enjoyable.
One thing that I love about them is discovering pairings that you never would have thought would work and then leave you wondering why they won’t get together in the show. This brings me to this topic.

I just got done reading a Ouran High School fanfiction and the pairing was Haruhi and Mori. Now I know that in reality Haruhi and Tamaki are meant to be together but for some reason I seem to like Haruhi and Mori together. Maybe it’s because Mori is quiet but yet is very strong that blends well with Haruhi liking the quiet since her life is so hectic and in some ways wanting to be protected (even though she doesn’t say it). Plus I don’t know about anyone else but Mori is hot but I guess that’s because I like the strong silent types.

But anyway I really like this pairing and hope to read more fan fiction about them in the future. But what do you guys think about this pairing?

New Sports Anime: Haikyu!

Published January 28, 2014 by Shay Taree

So I don’t know about anyone else but I love to watch sports animes and I don’t know why but they are just really interesting to watch.

So far from what I’ve noticed is that there have been sports animes about soccer, baseball, basketball, football, and tennis (I apologize if I missed any). But now a new one is about to come out by the name of Haikyu and it’s about volleyball!

Now I’m still on the Kuroko’s Basketball train but this seems like one anime that I can’t wait to start airing so I can check it out. Haikyu from what I was able to research is about a boy by the name of Shouyou Hinata who loves Volleyball and is beaten in middle school by Tobio Kageyama also known as “King of the Court”. Of course Hinata vows revenge and applies to Karasuno High School and there he joins their volleyball club but as a twist of fate he ends up on the same team as his rival Kageyama.

So there you have it! Haikyu sounds like a really good anime if anyone like myself is starting to like sports animes. So definitely check it out once it’s released.

Ai Yori Aoshi Review

Published January 27, 2014 by Shay Taree

Ai Yori Aoshi was a really sweet anime that I watched on a whim when I couldn’t think of anything to watch but I was in a romantic anime kind of moon. I had kind of heard a lot about this show and while it is an older anime after reading the synopsis it peeked my interest and made me want to watch more.

The anime is about how Kaoru ends up meeting a girl named Aoi who is his betrothed fiancé and childhood friend. Now he doesn’t know who she is at first but pretty quickly he finds out and when I mean quickly I’m talking about the first episode. But anyway Aoi is much different then other girls since she still wears Kimonos as her regular style of dress but all the same she is a very sweet girl.

Like most animes yes there is drama and there is even some mystery since as the series progress you want to know exactly why Kaoru ran away from his home in the first place.

No there were some moments where I did get bored with the series but the love that Kaoru and Aoi have for each other and the sweet moments they shared kept me watching. Oh as well as the interesting and funny characters that appear as the series continues.

So if your looking for a romantic series with some good fluff but also has the dramatic and mystery with some comedic moments then definitely check out Ai Yori Aoshi

Ah My Goddess Review

Published January 25, 2014 by Shay Taree

So this anime actually took me a long time to finally watch and while it’s not my favorite anime it was an okay watch.

Ah My Goddess is about a guy by the name of Keiichi who isn’t exactly what you would call the luckiest guy in the world. He is in the auto club at his college and he seems to always have the worst luck but regardless of that he has a great outlook on everything and it doesn’t hinder his spirit in any way. So while Keiichi is doing chores one day and is about to call his Sempai he instead ends up contacting the goddess helpline where he ends up getting Belldandy and that is where the real story begins.

Ah My Goddess is actually a cute love story because you can see how much Keiichi and Belldandy like each other but at times it did get a little boring. This isn’t to say that there wasn’t any drama because there was but it was usually the run of the mill someone is trying to take Belldandy back to the goddess realm.

But my favorite part of the series though would have to be Belldandy’s sisters who are introduced in the middle of series and they to me are the real stars of the show. They are definitely the comedic relief of the show and what kept me watching to the very end and made me actually decide to watch the sequel.

So overall this series while it wasn’t that greatest when it came to the romance it definitely will keep you laughing so feel free to check out Ah My Goddess!
