Psycho Pass Anime Review!

Published June 19, 2015 by Shay Taree

Alright so after so long it seems I’ve finally finished Psycho Pass and let me say it was definitely a roller coaster ride of a show. I can also see why a lot of people have enjoyed watching this show.

Here is the synopsis of Psycho Pass:

“The series takes place in the near future, when it is possible to instantaneously measure and quantify a person’s state of mind and personality. This information is recorded and processed, and the term “Psycho-Pass” refers to a standard used to measure an individual’s being. The story centers around the “enforcement officer” Shinya Kougami, who is tasked with managing crime in such a world.

In the future, it is possible to quantitatively measure a person’s emotions, desires, and every inclination. In this way, it is also possible to measure a person’s criminal tendency factor, which is used to judge criminals.

This is the story of a team of policemen dedicated to maintaining public order. Some of them work in the Enforcement Division, responsible for the apprehension of criminals, while others belong to the Supervisory Division which oversees their colleagues in Enforcement.”

I’m not going to sugar coat it but there was parts of the show during the middle that got kind of slow and a tad boring. But towards the end with the main villain that really made me sit up and pay attention.

Now that isn’t to say there isn’t any twist and turns during the series because trust me there are. There were definitely a few moments where I was like WTF just happened. Also similar (at least to me) to Akame Ga Kill try not to get attached to a few of the characters.

Now the main female lead Akane

definitely at the beginning got on my nerves with how naive she was but it did make sense since she was the new kid on the team. But towards the end of the series she got really tough and became one of my favorite characters with how her mind works and how smart she is. Also I’m sorry to say this because I know he show wasn’t geared towards romance but I really wanted Akane and Kogami to get together.

Sorry but I couldn’t help it hehe.

Now for the other main character Kogami.

Well let’s just say that not only is he hot but he is also very smart and there are underlying things with him that you’ll definitely be surprised to find out.

Also just as a last thought the music in the show is amazing! The last ending theme All Alone With You by Egoist is just amazing. I listened to it every time and never skipez over it.

But overall I give this anime a 8/10. The music was amazing and the character development of not only the lead but almost all of the characters in the show was great to see as well. Definitely stick with it if you hit the lull like I did because you won’t be disappointed. Plus there is a sequel that I can’t wait to watch. So comment down below on what you thought of the show. I would love to know!

Favorite Cliche Anime Love Story? ❤️

Published June 17, 2015 by Shay Taree

I know that many of us have enjoyed the romantic anime’s at one time or another or even the action anime’s that have a romance or two going on. But what is your favorite cliche anime love story?

So what I mean by cliche is where the story is so predictable and you know how it’s going to come out but you still love it anyway. There is just something about it that still makes it enjoyable no matter how many times you’ve seen that same underlying romantic plot.

My favorites are generally either the hate that grows to love, the unrequited love that becomes love, or the we are helping each other out but then becomes love. Also there are 3 shows that I love that show this love story perfectly!

Inuyasha:

Now I love this anime and it’s a perfect hate to love story. At first Kagome couldn’t stand Inuyasha and the same could be said about Inuyasha. But throughout the series you could see hints that they were starting to like each other and some were more subtle than others.

Itazura Na Kiss:

I literally binge watched this anime and stayed up all night watching it but it was worth it. The main character Kotoko is in love with this guy named Irie and at first he really doesn’t like her and shuts down most of her attempts at getting him to like her. But due to circumstances and over time he starts to fall for her. It was just a cute love story that I can watch again and again.

Toradora:

Alright so of course Toradora has that epic kissing scene between the two main characters but still the characters start out trying to use each other to get the person that they were liking. But over time and after spending time with each other they started to like each other.

Even though all these romantic plot lines were predictable it was still really sweet to see your favorite character fall in love with each other.

So what is your favorite cliche anime love story? I would love to know! Join in with the conversation by commenting below!

I write on my blog because I want to share my love and opinions about anime with others as well as be able to read theirs. Also its a great way to make friends.

Sword showdowns definitely! Rurouni Kenshin anyone haha.

It would definitely have to be Ouran High School Host Club! This is just so that there could be more episodes.

China Banned 38 Anime’s With More To Be Added!

Published June 10, 2015 by Shay Taree

alright so I’m sure that everyone has read this crazy news of China banning 38 anime titles from being seen and distributed. Some the titles include ones that many of us have watched and loved such as Attack On Titan, Death Note, High School Of The Dead, and Black Butler.

Now the reason behind this ban is because many of the anime show graphic violence, dark themes, and in many fighting against authority. It’s seems China feels like watching shows like these will make their citizens want to do these things. Sorry but I think that’s kind of stupid and I don’t agree with this kind of policeing (?) when it comes to forms of entertainment or expression of art.

I mean yes there can be a time and place for it if it’s harmful for society but that seems to be rare and far between. So why ban it? I don’t think the government should have a say in what we can watch but if it’s who can watch it that’s a different story since there is content that isn’t suitable for certain age ranges. But that is purely a suggestion since many of us I’m sure have watched things that we shouldn’t have necessarily been watching.

So it took me some digging but I found a completely list of the anime’s that were banned and here they are:

Terror in Resonance

Blood-C

Highschool of the Dead

Ergo Proxy

Parasyte

The Skull Man

Another

Inferno Cop

Afro Samurai

Tokyo Ghoul √A

Sword Art Online II

Tokyo ESP

Tokyo Ravens

Devil May Cry

RIN – Daughters of Mnemosyne

The Testament of Sister New Devil

Attack on Titan

Corpse Party

Strike the Blood

Death Note

Deadman Wonderland

Date A Live II

Psycho-Pass

Devilman Lady

School Days

Those Who Hunt Elves

Elfen Lied

High School DxD

Samurai Bride
So, I Can’t Play H!
Girls Bravo: Second Season

Kanokon

Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero

Sakura Diaries

Black Butler

Claymore

Dance in the Vampire Bund

Now I read that more may be added so we will soon see which of our favorite shows will be added to this already crazy list.

But what do you all think of this and how would you feel or what would you do if your government did this where you lived. Comment down below and let me know!

Long Running Anime Series?!

Published June 8, 2015 by Shay Taree

So todaY’s post is on the more normal side haha but my question is what is your thoughts on long running anime’s?

When I mean long running anime’s I mean any anime that has been going on for years.  So I mean anime’s such as Bleach, Naruto,  One Piece,  or Gintama.

My thoughts on long running anime is that I do like them and have found many of the series facinating and interesting. But I do feel that long running anime series can be daunting and also that the storyline may start to get stale.

Now the reason why I say it can be daunting is because I find if there is a lot of episodes it can feel like a chore to start watching it especially if its still producing more episodes. Now as far as the storyline is concerned for some series it can become the same concept for each arc of the series where there is a new bad guy to fight and the main character is at first too weak to win then they go through intense training to prepare for the fight.

But what do you think of long running anime series. Comment down below to let me know.

Favorite Random Anime Pairing?

Published June 5, 2015 by Shay Taree

So what I mean by random anime pairing is a pairing that isn’t in the actual fandom but one that you like that may or may not work.

I can’t lie I have a few but one of my favorites is Sesshomaru and Kagome from Inuyasha.

I know that Kagome is supposed to be with Inuyasha but for some reason I really like this pairing.

How I came to like this pairing is actually through fanfiction and I just happened to read a fanfic with those two as the main characters and the pairing. I know that Sesshomaru and Kagome are a weird pairing but for some reason it just works and I think it would happen if Kagome and Inuyasha didn’t work out.

So what is your favorite random anime pairing? Comment down below to let me know what it is and why.  Also I would love to know how you came to like this pairing.

If Anime Became Mainstream?

Published June 3, 2015 by Shay Taree

So I know that there are some anime’s that have broken through that obscure barrier and have become mainstream shows. Shows such as Bleach, Naruto, Pokemon, and Dragon Ball Z. But what would happen if anime as a whole became mainstream?

I mean if anime started airing on the major network channels and airing during prime times and not just at night I think it would be awesome. I think it would give more people the chance to know what anime was about and it would get rid of those assumptions (possibly) that anime is only for kids.

Anime should be mainstream considering that there are now so many shows that have a huge following that are considered nerdier  shows. Sorry I couldn’t think of a better way to phrase but I’ve just been noticing that uprising of shows that seem to cater to an audience that is more on the nerdier or dorkier side. Plus I love it and I think its time that anime made its debut in a primetime slot. I’m so tired of anime seeming to be something that has to be hidden and I think its time for everyone to enjoy it.

So do you think its time for anime to become  mainstream? Also what do you think would happen of it did?  Or do you think anime shouldn’t be mainstream. Comment down below because I can’t wait to read what you all have to say.

Romantic Drama or Romantic Comedy?

Published June 1, 2015 by Shay Taree

As many of you may or may not know I love my share of romantic anime but I would like to know which do you prefer when it comes to romance.  Romantic drama or romantic comedy.

Now I do like romantic dramas

because the drama is what keeps the show interesting and at times will keep me watching.  But there to me can be too much drama where it just goes completely overboard and this I don’t like.

My definite pick though has to go to romantic comedies.

I don’t know why but the comedic nature of the show paired with romance always makes it interesting. Also I don’t know what it is but with romantic comedy anime’s it just relaxes me.

So which do you like better. Comment down below to let me know!  Can’t wait to read your responses.

What Does Anime Mean To You?

Published May 28, 2015 by Shay Taree

We all have our own reasons for liking anime and I would love to know why. What anime means to me is an escape from the real world for just a little bit and a time for me to unwind.

It also helps me to explore what I like and enjoy and also to be more creative if I come up with an idea or something from an anime.

Anime is just something that I overall enjoy and love to see others enjoy.  I love the community it has introduced me to and the friends I’ve made while watching it.  Also I know this sounds strange but it also helped me to be myself.

Now what does anime mean to you?  I would love to know and I can’t wait to read all your answers.

Most Underrated Anime Couple!

Published May 27, 2015 by Shay Taree

Alright so since yesterday I did most overrated couple you know I had to ask about the most underrated couple today.

So my most underrated couple actually has to be Ryuuji and Taiga from the show Toradora.

I know that many people have seen this show and its been very talked about since the romance in it is just amazing.  But I just feel like this couple and their story isn’t celebrated enough.

I feel like Ryuuji and Taiga are underrated because they are outshined by other couples from more mainstream anime shows.  Like for example Naruto and Hinata from well Naruto. But Ryuuji and Taiga’s love story is like a love/hate story tsince they started off hating each other but since they both had someone that they wanted they decided to work together.  Then along the way they fell for each other.

It was just a great story and they could definitely be one of the couples that people love. Plus their kissing scene was amazing and oh so sweet!

But who do you think is the most underrated anime couple?  Comment down below with your aanswer and why.  I can’t wait to read them.
