Always & Forever Lara Jean By Jenny Han Book Review!

Published February 22, 2018 by Shay Taree

I have finally finished the Lara Jean series written by Jenny Han and I completely loved it. Always & Forever Lara Jean is the finally book in this series installment and it definitely didn’t disappoint.

Always & Forever starts off during the later half of Lara Jean’s senior year of high school with her relationship with Peter. It takes you through the ups and downs of her senior year including on where her relationship with Peter will stand once they go off to college in the fall.

I definitely enjoyed reading this book and couldn’t put it down. It definitely made me think of my own senior year experience especially when it came to my friends going away to college. That definitely almost caused me to shed a few tears.

I think this was the book that we definitely saw Lara Jean grow up and do things for herself. You saw her make decisions that she didn’t know that she would have to make but you saw her make them of her own free will and what would be best for her. While she did think of the relationships with her family and friends she also thought about what would help her in the long run.

This was definitely an enjoyable read and I’m so happy with the ending of this series. So I definitely recommend reading this series if you haven’t already.

Fire & Fury Inside the Trump White House Book Review!

Published February 20, 2018 by Shay Taree

As we all know many of us were shocked when Donald Trump became President of the United States and since then there have been several scandals that have rocked the White House. So when this book came out about the secrets regarding this presidency I just had to read it.

To be honest this book was a very interesting read and had me from beginning until the end. But there were moments when this book had me kind of confused because to be honest there were a few people in the political world that I didn’t know.

That doesn’t mean this book wasn’t entertaining because it was totally entertaining when talking about the different scandals and a behind the scenes look of what many people where thinking when Trump became president and seeing him run the country.

Like you learn that Trump didn’t expect to win the presidency and most people in his camp were apart of his campaign for their on agenda and in many ways other people seemed to be running the White House.

You also learned a little bit about the thought process behind so many of the hiring and firing of many officials. Plus you see more about what happens when the Comey firing happened.

I definitely recommend checking out this book if you have been interested in this presidency due to all the shenanigans that have been going on. This also doesn’t at time read like your usual political book and at times reminded me of a soap opera. I honestly couldn’t believe that this was really happening. So definitely check out this book! Also feel free to comment down below about what you thought of this book if you read it and also whether or not you will read it.

P.S. I Still Love You Book Review!

Published February 6, 2018 by Shay Taree

I have finally finished another book and this one was the 2nd book in the To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before series. The book starts out kind of where the book ended when Lara Jean is recovering from the drama that had just happened and is also regretting what took place. She starts wishing she was back with Peter and decides to try to do what’s right and apologize and potentially get back together with him.

After this things start to look promising for the couple but then a scandal happens and someone from Peter’s and Lara Jeans past returns. With this person returning it causes some drama between the two and of course there is also some drama involving Genevieve.

The book also takes you through Lara Jeans insecurities involving Genevieve but also teaches you a bit of a lesson about not comparing your relationship with someone to their previous relationship. Also there are some funny moments involving Lara Jeans younger sister Kitty.

Overall I really enjoyed the book and I’m currently reading the third and final book in this series and I can’t wait to see what happens. I will definitely have a review on that book once I finish it.

So comment down below on what you thought of this book if you read it already or let me know if you may read it.

Solving For Ex Book Review!

Published February 2, 2018 by Shay Taree

I have finished another book so that means another book review! The book I just finished was Solving For Ex By Leigh Ann Kopans. I bought this book via the iBooks store at a pretty cheap price.

Solving for ex is about a girl named Ashley who is in love with her best friend Brendan. She thinks the year is going to be just the same with her and Brendan both being on the mathletes team and just spending time together like they usually do. But then two new kids start at their school a boy named Vincent and a girl named Sofia start at the school it turns her world upside down.

After the drama she experience at her old school it feels like history is repeating itself and Ashley doesn’t know what to do. From there the drama ensues.

This book is kind of your typical young adult romantic novel with drama and of course romance. At the beginning of novel

I wasn’t all that into it but once the characters Vincent and Sofia were introduced I couldn’t help but be hooked. When these characters were first introduced I couldn’t help but feel that something was up about them and I was right.

I also couldn’t help but put myself into Ashley’s shoes since I’m sure we have all been there when it comes to liking someone and feeling like another person is taking over our territory.

While I did enjoy this book there was just some things that I wanted a little more of. Like I wanted to know more about what was going to be the end result with a few of the characters. I also felt like the romance that happened with some the characters happened too fast.

But overall this book was an enjoyable read and at certain parts I couldn’t put it down. So if your interested in reading it definitely check out this book!

Her Impact Issue #0 Review!

Published February 1, 2018 by Shay Taree

I recently got contacted by some fabulous people to review an indie manga by the name of Her Impact. Since I’ve never read any indie manga before I decided to give it a shot.

Her Impact is about a African Japanese single mother by the name of Sadie “Amaya” Hiroshi who takes up boxing reviving her father legacy. The manga starts off with you reading a little bit about her backstory concerning her father and how great of a boxer he was while also giving you detail regarding the match where her parents met. It then takes you into present day with you learning about Sadie’s day to day life concerning her job and her family dynamic involving her son Aiden. While out buying her son a present for doing well in school she happens upon a young man who suggests she take up a boxing class.

To be honest while reading the manga I was a little confused on where it was headed. When it first started out with her talking about her father I was already interested to learn more about the Impact this had on her and her mom. I thought she would have already been involved in boxing and trying to live up to her fathers name. So when it went to present day and showed her at a desk job and then talking about her boss I was a little shocked. This isn’t to say that I didn’t enjoy learning about how she got into boxing I just would have thought it would have been saved for later in the story as a great backstory and also just a little bit shorter.

I did enjoy the character Sadie overall since I liked how she can switch up her personality depending on whom she’s around. She can be really sweet when talking to the clerk at the bookstore, confused when wondering what her son is reading, but also rough around the edges when pushed hard enough. I also love what you saw so far regarding her relationship with her son. Her son appears to be a good kid and also very smart.

I also really enjoyed the art style in this manga and it heavily reminded me of reading the boondocks comic strips as a kid. I also didn’t mind the sometime wordiness of this first chapter since that also gave me the boondocks vibe.

Overall I feel like this series can go so many different ways concerning the storyline that I can’t wait to see how it happens and what path the author decided to take. I also wanna say thank you to the individuals that contacted me about reading Her Impact as I had a great time reading the start of this series and I can’t wait to read more.
