So there is a reason why I decided to post this question today and that’s because I definitely have an anime that has just been on my mind.
Now I’m sure we have all gone through that period of where a particular anime literally takes over all our thoughts. That period can either be really long or short depending on if a new show becomes the source of the obsession haha.
For me the current anime that I’m obsessed with is the anime NANA.
I watched this anime back in August/ September but for the past few weeks it’s literally been on my mind.
Maybe it’s because of the music and it also could be because of the characters but all I know is that I totally wish I could be one of the Nana’s.
But what anime or manga are you currently obsessed with? Comment down below and let me know!

Alright so I finished another manga and it was Kare First Love and I actually enjoyed it! It felt like so many anime’s that I’ve seen all rolled into one neat but slightly disfunctional package.
I also have a YouTube video with my review on the manga as well so check it out.
Here’s what the manga was about: “Coy and self-conscious high school student Karin Karino never paid much attention to boys until she met Kiriya, a popular student from a nearby boys’ school. Karin and Kiriya embark on a romantic journey despite Karin’s classmate Yuka’s best efforts to sabotage their relationship, but Karin soon learns that living happily ever after isn’t on the curriculum when she becomes Kiriya’s center of attention, as well as embittered Yuka’s bull’s-eye on her dartboard of hate.”
The manga at first glance reminded me very much Peach Girl but then as I started to read more I noticed other anime’s that had the same element. These included Paradise Kiss, Ao Haru Ride, and Say I Love You. Now noticing this didn’t hurt the manga in any way it actually made me like it more.
Now what I did like about the manga was that it was a fairly easy story to get into and it had many types of drama. It had family drama, couples drama, and friendship drama. While it did have some of the same elements that many shoujo manga have it was still enjoyable to read.
The art in the manga I also very much enjoyed since it was easy to follow along with all the chat bubbles and I didn’t feel like I didn’t know which one to start with. Plus you could tell that the guys where drawn to show how handsome they could be and also how a good majority of the girls were very pretty.
The only thing I didn’t like about the manga was that I thought that Yuka (Karin’s friend/enemy) was going to be a big part of the manga but to be honest after the beginning she wasn’t really in it. She would show up every now and then but not too much and she didn’t cause to much havoc. Then once it got to the end of the manga she was pretty much nonexistent.
But overall I did enjoy the manga and I give it a solid 7/10. I enjoyed since the ups and downs of the relationship even though it was a bit much. Also I did like how Yuka wasn’t solidly apart of the series like you originally thought. But if you like shoujo manga I think you would enjoy it. So check it out!

Yes I know this is long time coming considering that the anime finished awhile back as well as the manga. But I recently picked it up again and finally finished it so here are my thoughts.
The biggest thing that I realized about this manga is that it comes off as being a really sweet manga but in reality it is a big emotional roller coaster. I have not been on a roller coaster ride like that when it comes to a manga in a sooooo long. It was refreshing to see but it did get very tiring after a while.
The art style for the manga was actually really interesting and I really like it. The art didn’t interfere with trying to read the speech bubbles. Which is very frustrating to have happen.
The only other thing that I didn’t like about this manga is that the ending is very lack luster. After all the drama that happened I thought the ending would be much better but it was one of those endings where the ending was similar to specific place in their past that was special to them.
Not that it’s a bad thing it’s just that after that emotional roller coaster ride I was hoping for just a little bit more.
Overall though I give this manga a 7/10. The art was amazing but the ending I had to dock points for. Comment down below though on what you thought of this manga if you read it and also this review. I can’t wait to read them!

I haven’t done a manga review in a while so I decided it was about time I did another and plus I was in the mood for reading a good shoujo manga.
The manga I chose was called Rockin Heaven and here is the synopsis:
“Sawa applies to Heaven’s Wing Academy, thinking she would look cute in the uniform. But she never expected the academy to be a previously all-boys’ school! And the head honcho of the school, the class president himself doesn’t seem to like her one bit and takes no pains to hide it. At first, adjusting to life at the academy is tough. Sawa is bullied and teased, and the boys in the class even throw her new shoes in the water. While attempting to retrieve her shoes, she falls into the water and is unexpectedly saved by Ran, who up until this point has made her life hell. The newfound gentleness in Ran intrigues her, and she finds herself falling for him. What will her days be like for the rest of her school life?”
So I’m not going to lie it was your typical girl meets boy, boy meets girl, and drama happens which involves a lot of misunderstandings and love triangles. But still I could but have certain moments where I screamed in anguish off what happened or squealed with happiness when two characters kissed.
One of the things I really liked about this manga is that none of the characters were side characters. They each had their own thing going on which was interesting to see. Also they gave a breath of fresh air knowing that whole manga wasn’t going to be about the main characters love story but also other characters relationships as well. There was even some friendship drama thrown in which was also nice.
I also really liked how the manga didn’t end with just their graduation but it also gave an epilogue into their adult lives. That was really nice to see and was a great ending.
So if your looking for a shoujo manga that is kind of your typical shoujo manga but with a great cost of characters and other stories written in between then definitely check out Rockin Heaven!
So overall I gave this manga a 8/10. Comment down below on what you thought of this manga if you read it or what you thought of this review! Join in the conversation!

Yes I know I squealed for joy too when I read this news as well. Now this new manga series is actually going to be a sequel to the original manga that ran from 1998-2006 but still I’m very excited for this.
The new manga is going to be titled Fruits Basket: Another and will take place in the same setting as the original but it will have a new female lead by the name of Sawa.
From the information that I’ve been able to gather Tohru, Kyo, and Yuki will not be in this series but they will be mentioned. As far as the other beloved characters in this series we will just have to see if they show up or are mentioned.
The manga is planned to start in September of 2015 and will only be about 2-3 volumes long. I can’t wait to read a translated version of this. I can’t help but have high expectations for this. But what do you think will happen in this new Fruits Basket manga and how do you feel about it? Comment down below I would love to know!

P.S. Yes I did change the name of my blog just to make everything under the same name. I’m so sorry if there was any confusion.
So everyone always asks what was the first anime you watched, but what about the first manga you every read and just to go further how old were you.
I know for me the first manga I ever read was Inuyasha
and I was 17 about to be 18 when I read it. I remembering me reading it because I finally finished watching it and I wanted to see how it ended.
So what was the first manga that you read and how old were you? I would love to know so comment down below!

alright so I’m sure that everyone has read this crazy news of China banning 38 anime titles from being seen and distributed. Some the titles include ones that many of us have watched and loved such as Attack On Titan, Death Note, High School Of The Dead, and Black Butler.
Now the reason behind this ban is because many of the anime show graphic violence, dark themes, and in many fighting against authority. It’s seems China feels like watching shows like these will make their citizens want to do these things. Sorry but I think that’s kind of stupid and I don’t agree with this kind of policeing (?) when it comes to forms of entertainment or expression of art.
I mean yes there can be a time and place for it if it’s harmful for society but that seems to be rare and far between. So why ban it? I don’t think the government should have a say in what we can watch but if it’s who can watch it that’s a different story since there is content that isn’t suitable for certain age ranges. But that is purely a suggestion since many of us I’m sure have watched things that we shouldn’t have necessarily been watching.
So it took me some digging but I found a completely list of the anime’s that were banned and here they are:
“Terror in Resonance
Blood-C
Highschool of the Dead
Ergo Proxy
Parasyte
The Skull Man
Another
Inferno Cop
Afro Samurai
Tokyo Ghoul √A
Sword Art Online II
Tokyo ESP
Tokyo Ravens
Devil May Cry
RIN – Daughters of Mnemosyne
The Testament of Sister New Devil
Attack on Titan
Corpse Party
Strike the Blood
Death Note
Deadman Wonderland
Date A Live II
Psycho-Pass
Devilman Lady
School Days
Those Who Hunt Elves
Elfen Lied
High School DxD
Samurai Bride
So, I Can’t Play H!
Girls Bravo: Second Season
Kanokon
Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero
Sakura Diaries
Black Butler
Claymore
Dance in the Vampire Bund”
Now I read that more may be added so we will soon see which of our favorite shows will be added to this already crazy list.
But what do you all think of this and how would you feel or what would you do if your government did this where you lived. Comment down below and let me know!

So this time it’s not a discussion topic this time it is a review. I finally got a chance to read chapter 625 of Bleach and while there wasn’t a lot of action in this chapter there was still a lot that happened.
In the last chapter we were re-introduced to Grimmjow and I was so happy to have seen him return. Well in this chapter we were able to see that Grimmjow wasn’t the only character that has returned. Nel has returned
Yay!!! So there is a lot of explanation that needs to happen so overall I give this chapter a 7/10 due to many characters returning. But if you haven’t checked out the recent chapter check out soon. If you have then comment down below what you thought of it!

So I know that the title of today’s post doesn’t make the best sense but please hold on because I will explain it. What I mean by the title is does reading the manga before watching the anime make you not as invested in the anime?
Now for me it kind of does just because then if I’ve read the manga and then go watch the anime I don’t pay as much attention because I know what is going to happen. Therefore I tend to zone out more and not watch it as intently as I would if I hadn’t read the manga.
A few examples I can give for me is Kuroko’s Basketball
Both shows I really like but once I started reading the manga for both and then watching the series I didn’t pay attention to it as much. Right now the 3rd season of Kuroko’s Basketball is airing and while I do love the show I haven’t been watching it every week like I thought I would and when I do watch it I don’t watch it like I did the first 2 seasons because I already know what’s going to happen.
That’s why now I don’t really read the manga of an anime until either I finish the anime or if the manga is still continuing even though the anime has finished airing.
Do this happen to anyone else? Do you prefer to watch the anime first and then read the manga or vice versa? Comment down below I would love to know.
