Dark Moon: The Blood Altar Anime First Impression!

Published January 17, 2026 by Shay Taree

This was an anime that I actually was super excited to watch based off the premise and also because I had heard a lot about the webtoon. The webtoon was made by Hybe which is a kpop company that actually is the company for my favorite kpop group BTS. (Which they have their webtoon by the way). But this webtoon used their group in Enhypen as inspiration/the face of the webtoon.

This webtoon became really popular to where it has an anime now. So I decided it was time to check it out. The anime is about a group of vampires who attend and academy where a new girl is now starting. They are all weirdly attracted to this girl and they aren’t for sure why.

Dark Moon The Blood Altar

In the first episode we meet the new girl and it immediately starts with her meeting one of the guys and then him telling his group of friends how there is something about her. We also then meet the rest of his crew where they of course run into her only after being told to stay away from her. So far it’s really caught my eye and I can’t wait to watch the next episode.

First Meeting

The one thing that I have found interesting about this show is the dub voice acting. Yes I’m watching it dubbed but for this dub every character has a British, Irish (?), or somewhat European accent. Which is an interesting choice. But overall it still have me intrigued enough to read the webtoon at a later date.

So if you are interesting in checking out this anime it is currently available on Crunchyroll with the first 2 episodes already released at the time of me writing this. also check out my YouTube short if you want to listen to how I feel about this anime so far.

Hana-Kimi Anime First Impressions!

Published January 14, 2026 by Shay Taree

Hana-Kimi was one of 5 winter anime I put on my list for this winter season and so far I’m glad that I did. So far only the first 3 episodes are out with the 4th one about to air in the next few days and I’m hooked on it. I’m enjoying the drama, the funny moments, and also some of the angst that is happening. It’s also really keeping me engaged due to the synopsis since it really reminds me of the early 2000s move She’s the Man that started Amanda Bynes.

Hana-Kimi poster

Hana-Kimi has been well known for a while since it was/is a popular manga and it had already been made into a live action drama. But this is the first time that it’s been made into an anime from my understanding.

It involves a girl named Mizuki who is disguising herself as a boy at an all boys school to get close to a boy that she likes. Of course a lot of mishaps happen along the way especially when it turns out that she is roommates with the guy she likes who’s name is Izumi Sano.

Mizuki

I’m super excited to watch more of the show since it already has a few characters figuring out he is actually a she so I’m curious on how that will navigate throughout the series.

I have a small video linked below about my thoughts as well so far so feel free to check it out if you like.

My Hero Academia Final Season Review! (Spoilers)

My Hero Academia Final Season Poster

Over the past few days I finally decided to watch the final season of My Hero Academia! This was a long time coming and I was super excited to watch the conclusion to this amazing show. I did watch it dub since I’m used to the dub voices but that didn’t make this season any less exciting!

There were many times during the season that I was almost brought to tears. I was on the edge of my seat with the thought that All Might was going to die or that Bakugo wasn’t going to make it. Plus I felt bad for several of those involved in the entire battle including the bad guys since we got to understand why they are the way they are.

The final battle was epic and everything that I hope it would be the stand out moment and the part that almost got me to cry was finding out that Deku was now quirkless again. I was so ready to see him continue to go out there and fight but to find out he was now quirkless just made me sad. I also enjoyed have the epilogue there to see what everyone was up to after and to have it narrated by Deku just made it that much tear jerking.

Final scene of the anime

There was definitely some laughs though so not everything was sad like finding out that Bakugo still had that attitude of his and is gunning for the number 1 spot. Overall I enjoyed this series a lot and I’m so glad I went back and started it over from the beginning since seeing the characters change over the course of the entire series. But my favorite character is still Todoroki haha!
