Bleach Chapter 625 Review!

Published May 14, 2015 by Shay Taree

So this time it’s not a discussion topic this time it is a review. I finally got a chance to read chapter 625 of Bleach and while there wasn’t a lot of action in this chapter there was still a lot that happened.

In the last chapter we were re-introduced to Grimmjow and I was so happy to have seen him return. Well in this chapter we were able to see that Grimmjow wasn’t the only character that has returned. Nel has returned

along with Riruka!

Yay!!! So there is a lot of explanation that needs to happen so overall I give this chapter a 7/10 due to many characters returning. But if you haven’t checked out the recent chapter check out soon. If you have then comment down below what you thought of it!

Favorite Miyazaki Film?

Published May 13, 2015 by Shay Taree

I know that everyone has seen a Miyazaki film at one time or another even if they didn’t know it at the time. But I would like to know which are your favorite ones?

I actually have 2 favorite Miyazaki films and one of them I used to watch a lot because it would always come on TV. My 2 favorites are Kiki’s Delivery Service

and Spirited Away.

I actually didn’t watch Spirited Away until I was in college but I fell in love with it the moment I saw it.

But which are your favorite ones? Comment down below to let me know and why.

What If Anime Was Banned?

Published May 12, 2015 by Shay Taree

So I had seen a forum post about anime trying to be banned and then after I found a Facebook page devoted to banning anime. But the page could possibly be a complete joke. But regardless it got me thinking about what would I do if anime did get banned.

I think first of all that I would be surely pissed off!

I mean what would banning anime do anyway? It hasn’t hurt anybody and it is just another form of entertainment for people to enjoy. I also think that I would still find a way to enjoy it even if it meant me having to sneak and watch it.

Which when I think about it may be pretty cool but also dangerous.

Can you actually picture going to jail for watching anime or being fined for buying it. That just seems funny to me and also pretty ridiculous.

But what would you do if anime was banned? Would you still watch it regardless or would you try and find something else to partake in. Comment down below and let me know!

What Do You Think Of Simulcasting Anime?

Published May 6, 2015 by Shay Taree

So this question was asked by Takuto’s Anime Cafe and just to clarify what was meant by this question is what do I think of simulcasting as a whole.

To be honest I do like simulcasting anime since it serves it’s purpose of anime fans all over the world being able to enjoy what they love the same time as people in Japan get to experience it.

Now for me how I watch anime is that I love to binge watch my anime. This is mostly because I don’t like waiting each week or every other week in some cases for a new episode. Now there is one anime that I am watching while it’s airing and that’s Sailor Moon Crystal

but I’ve learned that I don’t like it that much. This is mostly because I tend to forget that an episode is airing on that day due to everyday life and plus for me I don’t get the connection with the series like I do when I’m able to watch it straight through. I know that sounds crazy trust me I know.

But what do you think of simulcasting anime? Do you enjoy watch anime every week as it is airing or are you like me and enjoy binge watching your anime once it’s finished? Comment down below and let me know!

Friends & Anime ðŸ˜„😆

Published May 4, 2015 by Shay Taree

So I know that this title sounds strange but I wanted to know how your friends feel about anime in general. Do they watch it? Do they not understand it completely?

I know I posted about family before when it came to anime but I’m not sure if I included friends. If I didn’t please continue reading and of I did well please continue to read anyway.

For me at least I have a group of friends that are into anime and really enjoy it and then I have another group of friends which I have known much longer that aren’t really into it.

The ones that are into it I completely nerd out with and we can literally talk about anime all day!!!

My other group of friends though just kind of look at me like I’m crazy when it comes to anime so I’m definitely the nerd one in the group. Don’t worry it doesn’t bother me at all.

Now my group of friends that aren’t into anime do know that I like it and they kind of understand it but their anime doesn’t go beyond Pokemon and the original Sailor Moon series. For a long time though I didn’t really show them just how much I like anime until probably when I got into college and it’s mostly because I that point I stopped caring about how people thought about me and just was myself. They don’t make fun of me for it they just don’t understand my fascination with it.

So I now extend the questions to everyone else! What do your friends think of anime? Are your friends into it or are you like me and have a group of friends that love it and a group of friends that don’t understand it? Leave your comments below and let me know.

Also thank you everyone for your input on my last post I loved reading the suggestions I got. If you have more you can send them to my kik if you have one which is ShayChan08 or you can email them to me at animereviewergirl@gmail.com.

Reading The Manga Before Watching The Anime?

Published April 30, 2015 by Shay Taree

So I know that the title of today’s post doesn’t make the best sense but please hold on because I will explain it. What I mean by the title is does reading the manga before watching the anime make you not as invested in the anime?

Now for me it kind of does just because then if I’ve read the manga and then go watch the anime I don’t pay as much attention because I know what is going to happen. Therefore I tend to zone out more and not watch it as intently as I would if I hadn’t read the manga.

A few examples I can give for me is Kuroko’s Basketball

and Bleach.

Both shows I really like but once I started reading the manga for both and then watching the series I didn’t pay attention to it as much. Right now the 3rd season of Kuroko’s Basketball is airing and while I do love the show I haven’t been watching it every week like I thought I would and when I do watch it I don’t watch it like I did the first 2 seasons because I already know what’s going to happen.

That’s why now I don’t really read the manga of an anime until either I finish the anime or if the manga is still continuing even though the anime has finished airing.

Do this happen to anyone else? Do you prefer to watch the anime first and then read the manga or vice versa? Comment down below I would love to know.

What Anime Voice Actor(s) Would You Like To Meet?

Published April 27, 2015 by Shay Taree

Like I posted in a previous blog I’ve only been to one actual convention but I want to go to more. But many of you who commented also talked about the voice actors that you have met.

I haven’t met any but I have a lot that I want to meet so here are my top 5 English anime voice actors I would love to meet:
1. Johnny Yong Bosch

2 Todd Haberkon

3. Laura Bailey

4. Travis Willingham

5. J. Michael Tatum

The reason why I chose these 5 is because they are the voice actors who’s panels I watch the most. Also I think they are so good at what they do and in some instances I also look up to them.
But what are your top 5 voice actors toys would love to meet? But if you’ve met some voice actors before let me know which ones you’ve met. Comment down below and like always I will answer back!

First Anime Convention Experience

Published April 22, 2015 by Shay Taree
Since there are conventions that go on all the time and also since I want to go to another one really badly it made me think of my first and only con experience.
The first anime convention I went to was Fanime Con in San Jose California. I had just graduated from college and it was a gift to myself. I went with a group of friends that had went last year and it was amazing! I had so much fun and bought so many things.
I went to a few panels and was able to see so many amazing cosplays and it made me want to cosplay the next time I went to a con. Now this was the only convention that I’ve gone to so far but it was definitely a great experience.
But what was everyone else first convention like and what was your favorite part? I would love to know! So comment down below and like always I will answer back!

Paradise Kiss Anime Review

Published April 15, 2015 by Shay Taree
Yay!!! I finally got around to watching an anime that I have been meaning to watch for a while now and that’s Paradise Kiss. I had first heard about Paradise Kiss while looking for a good romance anime to watch but I wasn’t able to find a good website to watch it on. But finally I was able to and it was worth the wait. Also just to let you know there will be a few spoilers so if you don’t want to know about it then you may not want to read this review.
Here is the synopsis:
Yukari is a typical high-school student who listens to her parents and attends school everyday. As she starts to question her way of life, she encounters a group of fashion design students who have a clothing label known as “Paradise Kiss”. The group needs to find a model to showcase their designs in an up-coming fashion show and decides to pick Yukari. Initially, Yukari is reluctant to be associated with this seemingly eccentric group, but eventually she realises they are really nice people. Furthermore, their passion and enthusiasm to follow their ideals and dreams make Yukari realise that she has not been enjoying her life and thus motivates her to pursue her own dreams. The story follows Yukari as she gets involved in the group and eventually falls in love with the leader, George.”

While Paradise Kiss may seem like your run of the mill romance anime it actually goes a lot deeper than that. It’s a good coming to age anime to show how many high schoolers may feel when they aren’t for sure where their life is supposed to go next or if they are just doing what they are doing because of their parents. I definitely felt that way while in high school and I feel that way now and I’m an adult.
Also the romance with Yukari and George while it does happen fast it still gets you excited as a viewer as to what will happen next with them. George is a strange character because he is very mellow toned and your not for sure where he is coming from at times. At one point he has completely fallen for Yukari and in another scene he is not sure about her. It keeps you on your toes since there are many times during the series that I thought they were going to break up.
Paradise Kiss also had the perfect mix of characters where they were very comedic but it didn’t take away from the drama or romance in the show. It made it much more light hearted and I looked forward to those moments.

The music in the show was also amazing! I loved the opening song! It had a nice beat to it that made me not mind listening to it for 12 episodes.
Now the most surprising thing about Paradise Kiss had to be the ending. The two main characters Yukari and George who are the main couple in the show don’t end up together at the end. Due to certain circumstances they end up going their separate ways and at first I didn’t like this since I invested 12 episodes into this couple but then once I thought about it, I realized that I was glad that they didn’t end up together. George taught Yukari a lot about herself and what she wanted to do with her life and I think that is what he was there to do. There is no denying that they loved each other but they weren’t meant to stay together.

Now I did watch Paradise Kiss dubbed and it was good! The voices to me worked well with the characters. Also the show is rated R 17+ due to profanity and there is a few sex scenes but nothing raunchy so don’t worry but if your someone that doesn’t like that kind of thing then you may want to skip this show.
But overall I give this show an 9.5/10. Paradise Kiss wasn’t your regular shoujo anime and it made me think about when I was in high school. So check out Paradise Kiss if you haven’t already. So comment down below what you thought of this review or let me know what you thought of this show. Like always I will answer back.
