Ghost In The Shell Live Action

Published October 18, 2014 by Shay Taree

So it seems that Hollywood is up to it again and trying to make an already wonderful anime/manga a live action feature. I’m not for sure how I feel about this. On one hand I want to see it but on another I’m skeptical about whether Hollywood will do Ghost In The Shell justice.

Now I haven’t exactly seen Ghost In The Shell (I know I’m a terrible fan) but I have heard a lot about this anime/manga. From what I’ve been reading it seems like they may want Scarlett Johansson to play the lead roll but it hasn’t been confirmed. It has only been offered to her with 10 million dollars being what they will pay her (yikes that’s a lot of money).

If they make this movie I’m interested in seeing if this one will actually be good considering that Hollywood is currently 0-2 for their live action adaptations of animes. I’m sure everyone remembers how horrible Dragonball was and even though again I didn’t see it but Avatar the last air bender was also one I heard wasn’t good. For me I knew it wasn’t going to be good after seeing the cast was all white while in the animated show they characters are anything but white. But that’s Hollywood for you.

So let me know what you all think of this? Leave your comments below and join in with the discussion.

SMC Episode 2 & 3 Review

Published August 5, 2014 by Shay Taree

So I forgot to review episode 2 of Sailor Moon Crystal due to going on vacation and now since I’ve watched episode 3 I’ve decided just to put both episodes together into one review.

Alright so in episode 2 we were introduced to Ami the insanely smart and adorable girl who would ultimately become Sailor Mercury. I loved this episode it was very similar to the manga and it a way the episode was also pretty sad. The only reason why I say the episode was sad was due to how people were talking about Ami.

Alright now the transformation sequence and attacks were utterly awesome!!!!!! I love Sailor Mercury’s transformation and how her attacks were animated. Definitely much better than the 90’s anime but that anime still definitely has a soft spot in my heart.

Now on to episode 3! Episode 3 was were we got to meet the mysterious and gorgeous Rei also known as Sailor Mars! She is utterly gorgeous and that is also why she is my favorite Sailor Scout besides Sailor Moon of course. But anyway the episode was very similar to the original episode that she was introduced in where a bus is mysteriously disappearing with it’s passengers near the temple grounds that she is the priestess at.

The biggest difference that I saw in this episode was that all the Shitennou were introduced and it was nice to see that Zoisite was male like he was supposed to be.

Once again though Sailor Mars transformation sequence and attacks were awesome and different from the original. Absolutely loved the episode and fell even more in love with the Sailor Mars character.

Oh yeah one last scene to being up is the bus scene between Mamoru and Usagi. That scene was just soooo cute and I can’t wait for there to be more subtle romantic scenes between them. Plus Mamoru is hot especially with his glasses on. Love his animation as well in Crystal compared to in the 90’s anime.

Also one thing that I have noticed is that all the characters faces are drawn very doll like which I love.

Alright so stay tuned for another review of episode 4 in a few weeks! 20140805-091334-33214164.jpg

Knights Of Sidonia Review!

Published July 28, 2014 by Shay Taree

Alright so a few days ago I got a chance to watch Knights Of Sidonia and it turned out to be a pretty good show.

The show started off with action right at the beginning and from then on I was kind of on the edge of my seat to know what was going to happen next. Here is the synopsis of the show:
“It’s been a thousand years since the Gauna, a strange alien race with no known method of communication, destroyed the solar system. A portion of humanity managed to escape using enormous “seed ships” like the Sidonia, which have allowed them to maintain the population while drifting through space. Nagate Tanikaze is a young man who has been raised deep in the bowels of the ship. When he goes into training to pilot the huge robotic weapons known as Gardes, Nagate is entrusted with piloting the legendary unit known as Tsugumori. Nagate and his fellow pilots put their lives on the line against the Gauna, in the ultimate battle for the survival of humanity!”

It took me a while to get used to the animation of the show but after awhile I was able to look past that and just enjoy the plot of the show.

I also enjoyed the opening song. It started off slow but then picked in the middle which was great.

Also if you like Johnny Yong Bosh who also voices Ichigo in the Bleach dub then definitely watch since he voices the main character in this show as well.

I also read that a season 2 is in the works and I definitely can’t wait for it to be released so that I can know what happens next.

Also as a bit of warning there are a few weird/awkward moments in this show. Nothing terrible but enough to make you blush (hehe). But otherwise please watch this show and give it a chance. If you do decide to watch it the show is available to stream on Netflix.20140728-110112-39672908.jpg

What Anime???

Published July 25, 2014 by Shay Taree

This is a question that I’ve asked a few of my friends before but now I want to ask all of you.

If you could live in any anime world, what world would it be? Go ahead and take your pick.

For me I think I would have to choose either Pokemon since I would love to have a pikachu (pika pika hehe), Sailor Moon of course, or even a shoujo anime like Ouran since it looks like they have fun all the time!

But anyway leave your comments below with what your choice or choices are. I will also comment back since I love talking to all of y’all. Have fun!!

Sailor Moon Crystal 1st Episode Review

Published July 5, 2014 by Shay Taree

Alright so I just for done watching the 1st episode of the new Sailor Moon Crystal and I really enjoyed it! I felt like I was that little girl again watching Sailor Moon for the first time. But it didn’t have me feeling like I was watching a little kid show which was a good thing.

The art in the show was amazing to me and I loved the revamped look of the new characters. I’m pretty used to the older style of the old anime but the new one have it a fresh feel.

I also loved how Usagi is just as clumsy in this one as she was in the old one and there was quite a few moments where I was laughing out loud and putting myself in her shoes like when she fell down the stairs. I’ve definitely done that before.

Overall I loved the first episode and can’t wait until the next one and when more of the Sailor Scouts starts to appear.

Sailor Moon transformations!

Published July 3, 2014 by Shay Taree

So I ended up finding a video via buzzfeed of the original and new Sailor Moon transformations! Now while I do enjoy the old one since it is the original the new one is definitely really nice! The new animation is awesome for the transformation sequence! But the only problem I have with it is just that it just seems so long! I’ll link the video so feel free to check it out for yourself and tell me what you think. http://youtu.be/g1xXXfvBPc0

Kuroko’s Basketball 3rd Season

Published June 2, 2014 by Shay Taree

Even though there has been no official announcement made is seems that there may possibly be a 3rd season of Kuroko’s Basketball in the works. This makes me very happy since Kuroko’s Basketball is now one of my new obsessions.

While I still have yet to finish up the 2nd season of the anime due to being busy I have been keeping up with the manga. So I can’t wait to see what this new season is going to be like.

Anime To Get People Interested!

Published May 12, 2014 by Shay Taree

So I know that many of us watch anime but what do you do about your friends who don’t watch anime and also don’t know a lot about it.

I have quite a few friends like this and I actually ended up getting them at least a little interested in anime by introducing shows to them that I thought they would like.

So here are a few suggestions. If you have friends that you think would want to watch something that has no violence but is comedic then I say go with Ouran High School Host Club. I had one of my friends watch this and she loved it. After that I had her watch Fruits Basket and Peach Girl which she also equally loved.

Now for those whom you want to show that anime isn’t all comedic and actually has a story line I say go with Death Note. To me Death Note was an awesome anime that had a great plot. Also the show had a lot of depth to it and actually made you think since it was such an interesting story.

But what animes have you guys used to show your friends anime? Feel free to leave your comments below!

Anime That Made You Cry

Published April 24, 2014 by Shay Taree

So I happened to be checking Crunchyroll News to catch up on he latest anime news and I came across an interesting article.

Apparently a poll had been done where they asked viewers what anime made them cry the most and then they continued to break it down based on gender and even age. I was really surprised by how extensive this poll was done and also by what anime were on the list.

I just like any anime watcher have watched a few sad animes such as Clannad and Clannad After Story so I was not surprised to see it on the list and honestly thought that it was going to be number one. But surprisingly the number one anime that made viewers cry was Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day with 119 votes. A close second was Angel Beats with 118 votes. Clannad and Clannad AfterStory got a respectable 3rd and 4th place and rounding out the top 5 was Naruto.

Naruto I will honestly say I was surprised to see but then once I thought about it I realized that there were a few sad moments. (Don’t worry I won’t post spoilers). But I was shocked to see Fairy Tail on the list and Code Geass. I didn’t find Code Geass to be sad. I found it to be more entertaining then sad.

But anyway regardless tell me what you think of these findings and also share what anime or animes made you cry or not cry.
