What Anime Do You Wish Was Real?

Published March 16, 2015 by Shay Taree

So I know that many of us watch anime as not only a form of entertainment but also as a way for us to get away from reality for a bit. Whether it be from the stress of school, family, work, or even friends it’s just a great way to get away from it all.

But what I would like to know is what anime do you wish was real? This could be any anime from bloodiest anime you’ve seen to the most romantic anime you’ve seen. Also you can crossover different anime’s just to put a twist on this question.
For me if I had to choose it would have to be a combination of Sword Art Online,

Sailor Moon,

Ouran High School Host Club.

I mean how awesome would it be to be in a video game, fight crime, and also have a group of guys hanging around you constantly. Now that would be awesome.
So what about everyone else? I know that you have all thought about it before and I would love to know what you would wish. So comment down below your answers and like always I will answer back.

Favorite Go To Anime Genre?

Published March 14, 2015 by Shay Taree

Once again just another strange anime topic that I thought up and that’s what’s you favorite go to anime genre.

So what I mean is I know that everyone has had that moment where they aren’t for sure what to watch next so you may immediately deviate to the anime genre that you like the most.
For me that has to definitely be either comedy,

romance,

or school related anime’s.

I don’t know why but I just like to watch stuff that makes me happy and takes me away from reality even if it is just for a little bit.
But what about you guys? What anime genre do you find yourself gravitating towards most and it can definitely be more than one. So comment down below what that is and of course I will answer back.

AAA Manga Review

Published March 11, 2015 by Shay Taree

Alright so I just finished reading the manga AAA by Fukushima Haruka. It was actually a really good manga and from the moment I started reading it I couldn’t stop. But here is the synopsis:

Ogata Aoi is in her 2nd year of middle school and is the president of the student council. The middle school she attends is one of the best in the country and is called “AAA”. Aoi goes there to meet her first love, but after a surprising meeting, she’s finding out that her first love is a gang leader in the neighbor school, called “CCC” (lowest level). Maybe it’s only a coincidence that that gang leader and her first love have the same name since they look completely different from each other, but now, Aoi wants to find more about this person….

This is definitely a shoujo manga (my favorite genre actually) but it actually reminded me a lot about Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. I’m not going to say to much regarding that because it may give some things away. Also AAA definitely had a twist in it that I didn’t see coming.

It had a lot of sweet moments that definitely made me swoon

as well as a few moments that had my heart beating fast because of what was going on.

It’s a quick read since it’s only 15 chapters long but it was definitely a good switch from the manga that I’ve been reading.

So if your looking for a short by good shoujo manga definitely check out AAA because it will have you enraptured from beginning to end. So I give AAA a 9/10 even though the plot could be kind of predictable at times but still it was just to sweet to not enjoy. Also I would love to see this made into an anime one day!

So let me know what you thought of this review and also let me know what manga’s you are reading. So comment down below and like always I will answer back!

Anime That Left A Lasting Impression? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Published March 10, 2015 by Shay Taree

So this was an interesting topic that I thought up and that was what anime left a lasting impression on you. Now you take this question and interpret it as anything you like. It could be anything from how it made you think, which anime can always make you happy, an anime that made you look at yourself different, etc.

Now for me the anime that had a lasting impression on me definitely has to be a tie between Sailor Moon and Death Note. Sailor Moon because it taught me a lot about friendship, being brave, and standing up for the things you believe in. Also it’s an anime that is very nostalgic for me so it always takes me back to my childhood and I know that it can make me happy.

The other one Death Note left a lasting impression on me because it showed me that even people who are trying to do good can get corrupted by the power that they have. It was an amazing anime that showed me that not everyone has the best intentions and it also showed me that sometimes you can start off trying to do one thing but then things can drastically change that can deviate you from your goal that you had in place before.

But what about all of you? I’m sure there is an anime or Anime’s that have left a lasting impression on you and I would love to know what they are and why. Comment down below and like always I will also ways answer back because I love the conversations that start.

Sword Art Online II Review

Published March 3, 2015 by Shay Taree
So literally as I’m writing this I have quite a few tears in my eyes. Thankfully I didn’t completely lose it because I didn’t feel like re-doing my eye makeup but still I was pretty close.
But anyways I just finished season 2 of Sword Art Online and I actually really enjoyed it but honestly there were moments where I was like seriously where is this going. This was mostly during the later half of the show so don’t worry.
Now the beginning half of the show I enjoy so much because there was so much action. Kirito of course has to go inside another VRMMO game to figure out how players are once again not only dying in the game but also in real life. The game is called Gun Gale Online or GGO. Now I will say that the funniest moment is when Kirito sees what his avatar looks like. That moment had me laughing for a while. There he meets a girl and she has her own crazy past that honestly if that was me I have no idea what I would do.

Now the 2nd half of the series is where things became very slow at parts. I wasn’t for sure what the point of it was but all I know if that there was a lot of drama going on especially concerning Asuna and her mother. It wasn’t until the last 5 or 6 episodes that I started to get back into it again when another player by the name of Yuuki and her guild the Sleeping Knights were introduced.

Now this is where things got really sad and I’m definitely not going to spoil it for you so don’t worry but definitely go and watch it to find out what happens.
One of the things that I really liked about this series though that I didn’t notice until the end was that the later half mostly focused on Asuna and Kirito became a background character which I actually really liked. We as the viewers got to know more about Asuna, her personality, and also her fears. Which in the end made Asuna more relatable because you realized that she isn’t perfect and had her faults too.

Now the music in season 2 was actually pretty good. I loved the opening and ending songs but I especially loved the ending song later half of the series since it for the atmosphere of what was going on during the time and made you sadder.
Overall I really enjoyed this series even though there were moments where I wanted to just stop watching it. So I’ll give this show an 8/10 since the slow parts in the middle was a hurdle to get through but then the show redeemed itself towards the end. Now I’m going to go and watch something funny so I can stop being sad about this show.
So like always comment down below what you thought about Sword Art Online II and also this review. I will always answer back!

What Makes Someone An Anime Fan?

Published March 2, 2015 by Shay Taree

This is something that I’ve always wondered but what exactly makes someone an anime fan? I mean is it how they look, how much anime merchandise they have, or could it be how much they know about anime?

The reason why I’m asking this question is because I’ve had people say to me when they find out I like anime that I don’t look like an anime fan. I don’t exactly understand what that means but I took it for that it means that I’m not someone they thought would like anime. Which is weird to me because I didn’t know that you needed to look a certain way for you to like or enjoy something.
Also it makes me wonder that would someone who doesn’t own a lot of anime merchandise be looked as less of fan than someone who has a lot of anime merchandise? The same goes for someone who has seen a lot of different kinds of anime and someone who has only really watched mainstream anime such as Bleach and Naruto?
I guess my definition of an anime fan is just someone that enjoys and respects the medium of what it is. To me you don’t have to look a certain way to enjoy anime. You don’t have to own a lot of merchandise to be a fan and you don’t have to have watched every anime out there to be a fan either.
But what are your thoughts about this topic? I would definitely love to know. Comment down below about what you think and like always I will answer back.

Here are the answer to the questions! So I only answered one of the listed questions for the people Ingot nominated by because I wasn’t able to do both. But here they are!

1) What inspired you to start a blog?

Well I guess what inspired me is by watching YouTube. There are several different channels that I watch and a majority of them aren’t anime related. But one of them got started by writing a blog so I thought what would I like to write about that is my hobby.
2) What was your first anime?
My first anime was Sailor Moon. I remember coming home from school when I was in elementary school and watching it while eating my afternoon snack.
3) If you could cosplay any anime character (assume crafting skill and money are not an issue), who would you choose?

I would have to choose Yoruichi from Bleach. I just think she is an awesome character and I love her looks.
4) Apart from reviewing anime, what are some of your hobbies?

Well my other hobby is reading fanfiction as well as reading other books. But I also really like makeup. I love to try out different looks and experiment with different colors. While I’m not the best at it I still love to experiment with it.
5) If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?

I would go to Japan. It’s somewhere I’ve always wanted to visit!

6) Which was the saddest anime you’ve ever watched

That has to be Anohana because it had me crying on the first episode!

7) The funniest anime?
Definitely Shin Chan! That’s one anime that has had me laughing out loud all the time.
8) If you could star in any anime, which anime would you choose?
I would definitely have to say Pokemon. I think it would be really cool to be able to travel with my friends and also be able to catch Pokemon who would be my friends as well.
9) If you could take any anime character out on a date, who would you pick?
That is such a hard question but I guess I would have to choose Sesshomaru from Inuyasha. I just think he is just so cute!!!
10) If you could have any career in the world, what would you want to do?
I would love to be an actress!
11) What is a goal you wish to accomplish this year?

Sub VS Dub ٩◔̯◔۶

Published February 28, 2015 by Shay Taree
So I know that this is a topic that many people have their own opinions about and I thought that I would share mine. That topic is sub vs dub.
I know that many people prefer the sub since they can hear the original
Japanese voices and they don’t mind reading the subtitles
Then you have those that prefer the dub because they don’t want to read the subtitles and they don’t mind the dub voices.
Well for me I kind of like both depending on the mood I’m in and the anime that I’m trying to watch. Some anime I do prefer the subtitles version since it may have been the version that I’ve seen first and I’m used to the Japanese voices. Also it could be that there isn’t a dub available for that specific show.
Now when it comes to dubbed shows I do like them for a few different reasons. One reason is that if it’s an older show where I watched the dub first for example Sailor Moon then I’m used to the dub voices so when I hear the original Japanese I’m not used to it. Another reason is that I don’t feel like reading the subtitles and just want to listen and pay attention to the show. The last reason for me is also that I may look up who is doing the voices in the dub and decide that it could be good especially if I recognize any of the voice actors names.
But there is my opinion on sub vs dub. I don’t think one is better than the other. I think that they are both great and that it’s definitely up to the viewer. But I would love to know everyone else’s opinion. Like always comment down below and I will definitely answer back.
